The older ones on the 600's, metal i think, shapedrather nicely if you ask me? Well I've got the newer grubby greeny cack coloured plastic things on my 600 and I hate them. Did think of painting them black but prefer the idea of gatting an old set as they better looking to start with and if they are metal, polish the hell out of them?

Will they fit? Is there a reason I can't do this? Are they metal and if so is it cheap rust bucket stuff?

I think the front belt cover has several parts on the newer but only one bit n the old? Is there a reason for this?

you're thinking of the Rizoma ones from Spareshack

dream on, Pooronoidave, you'd have to stack the shelves every saturday for a year to afford them.:D

The originals are ABS and paint dosent really stick very well to it.

Time to get that kitchen table messy again, you know you get off on the smell ;)

Thanks Alex, if they do I'll try and track some down, keep your eyes and ears open y'all :D

Crusty, my kitchen table plastic workshop can churn out a flyscreen but belt covers are a bit beyond me, especially as it's the polished metal i'm after.

ANYONE WANT TO SWAP? :D

Pretty sure the ones on my old 1995 M600 were plastic (light grey) and I should know as I had the buggers off several times to swap the belts, but you've got me wondering now?

Hmmmm...

Ah Ha - had a look at some old photo's of the 600 - yep they are sort of dark grey, so I'm guessing were the ally ones :)

The early bikes did indeed have cast aluminium covers. Available in black or greeny-grey.

I supplied a pair to J & R recently and I think they cost the princely sum of £26 ;)

Perhaps J & R could sell their old covers to you Dave?

Cheers.

Lee.

P.S. I'll look into interchangability, could be a tricky one
