the front cap is nearing retirement, which is the best ngk one to go for shape and length wise?

I just used the short ones that Daytona Ruislip gave me. They worked.

When I had an XL125 back in '89 I had a spark plug cap with a built in arc gap in the cap to work as a tester. As a result the cap flashed every time the plug sparked. Was cool, in a 17 year old way, but a great way to test for spark...
Wish I could get some more but have no idea where it came from...

And to help you re-create your past Spacemonkey, Gunson do a product called Colourtune.
Its a screw in spark plug replacement with a glass insert so you can see the mixture burning. It's designed to help with ensuring the mixture is correct in the chamber and not for long term use, but for nostalgia's sake, eh?

Got one. No this thingy was a plug cap that replaced the standard plug cap all the time, but had a built in spark tester which arced every time the plug sparked.
