Taking bike in for first service (600 miles), how much you think this is going to cost?

Don't you get the first service free when you buy the bike as part of the deal? I am sure a few people had this conversation a year or 2 ago. I'd check before you write the cheque.

Chris, some of the ducati dealers do give you the first service free - some dont!

Often depends on how hard you knock them on the purchase price, and whether it is a franchised dealer - or a Ducati own store.

Me - I have to pay for mine - but as I knocked the dealer much more than the cost of a first service from the purchase price, I'm happy about that.:) (more like the cost of the next 3 services....)

I would ring them first and ask them... if you'd bought the bike from a 'decent' shop in the first place and not from those mardy arses at coventry you might have got a 'discressionary rate" as at ducmanchester -eg £228 for 6000m service

The 'official' line is that Ducati no longer include the first 600 mile service in with the RRP of the bike.

As CK says, some dealers will do it FOC, some won't.

You's pay's yer's money's etc etc....

Cheers.

Lee.

Banshee - cost for 1st (600 mile) service on my M750ie 2 years ago, was £124.
2nd one (6000) was about £200 if I remember right, and the 12,000 was £280 ish.

First service should take them about one & a half hours (or so Ducati recco), oil change, lube all round, check all fixings etc.
Your dealer should have told you what the costs shoud be: Parts/labour & vat. Some only charge for the parts & consumables tho.

Collecting mine after work tomorrow from its 1st service - and not costing much more than 2 years ago (this time for the M1000)

My 620ie had it first service at Riverside Northampton in November. I can't recall the exact price but I remeber it was just under £100 and £25 less (yes less) than they quoted when i booked it in!

It wasn't FOC cos I negotaited a good discount when i bought it (and it wasn't from Riverside)

£200.27 on my 620ie. I've been told that a 6000 miler will
be about double that !

Cheers,

Pete

Banshee - how did you get a big scratch and not notice it? If it's more a surface scratch then get the cans polished up to hide it?

I reckon they did it and you should ask them for a free service as repayment ;) :D

Pegasus in Reading did the 600 mile service on my 900ie two years ago. I booked it in advance so managed to get them to do it on a Saturday morning. It took 4 hours and cost just over £170 incl.

Pegasus in Reading, which is where I bought the bike from....

I was so shocked I rode off and left my credit card there - no
kidding - well at least they did call to say that my flexible friend
hadn't been returned to me :-)

Just wondering what the general opinion of the people here is
of Pegasus ??

£££s aside, wasn't today just wonderful? Sunshine, warm, no
HorseSh*t... Enjoy the music once you got the cans on !

Cheers,

Pete

i had my 600 miler done at DLS on Tuesday...they charged me about 50 for oil, filter and sump plug gasket. i believe that all the grubby, oily fingerprints were free.
