battery discharging

got a small problem with my 620ie...

once I turn on the light, the battery discharges in about 1 hour, but if I turn the light off, no problem at all, and if the battery is dead it recharges in about 5 min to full power...with the light off.
the local ducati dealer apparently has no idea of the problem cause they have returned the bike 2 times "already fixed".

what could be wrong?

my bike is doing exactly the same at the moment i have been told the it could be a loose or burnt out connection in the lighting circuit or it could be a problem with the Regulator/rectifier i have yet to find which it is on mine yet :mad:

Sounds like it could be a dodgey Rectifier/regulator unit, knackered battery or combination of both?
