Replacing fork seals in some Ducati 750ss 1991 showa forks ,, last ones i fitted were NOK japan supposed to be best and what Showa use , but one has leaked after 6000 miles now have a set of Italian made Athena seals , are they OK ???
I normally put 5w oil in these forks, they are non adjustable but work really well , from standard they have progressive springs which is interesting .

Probably no useful info but I've never had to replace a fork seal on Showa usd forks due to leaks, the forks on the S4 were replaced as a matter of course since I had them apart to change the springs and the outer dust seals were looking a bit perished but did not leak.
FWIW I believe Athena manufacture gaskets for Ducati

Yes Thats what I heard too , I will use the Athena seals ,,with 5w oil
I always though Ducati used linear fork springs but seems in some older models they used progressive fork springs ..

From memory the Sachs shock spring on the Evo is progressive….one of the many suspension “issues” from stock…..:nash:
