Wanting a slightly longer mudguard on my 900ss, and am hoping that one off an earlyish Monster may fit.
Has anyone swapped mudguards to and from early 90s Monster to SS ?

As it happens, I found a wonderful picture that explains everything.

You want one like the red one in the picture. Note the mounting holes are closer together and higher up than the later Yellow one, which won't fit your forks.
I'm guessing but I think you need a pre-1999 mudguard.

For the most part the SS and early Monsters used the same SHOWA forks, also used on the 851 /888 (there are exceptions) so mudguards are pretty much interchangable

If you just need a longer one then extententions are fairly easy to come by

For the record, the fitment/spacings are also the same on 916 & 1098 etc. (but not 999/749) and these generally have better protection around the front of the fork tubes/calipers although they are very short at the rear.

What they said. 916/748 ones should fit the 40mm spacing and offer more prorection for the forks but are very short at the rear. Maybe the SS ones are longer at the back?

Think that the Monster one on the SS would look bit odd personally and just getting an extender for the original one would be a much better compromise.

Depending on the year however many are interchangeable as I've got 916 that fits mine (not surprising as they are 916 forks) and I'll be going with the Sport-Classic on my 900 which also fits :)

Have tried to find an extender for 900ss mudguard, but haven't (as yet) been successful. Given that mine has a crack in it I thought I'd try to source one that had a bit more of a tail on it as I've ditched the fairing.

So, basically just after a red (preferably Ducati) mudguard that'll fit the 900ss Showa UD forks and give the bike a bit more protection from the weather.
