Bit of a last minute thing but I popped along to Brands Hatch yesterday to watch free practice and the qualifying sessions of the GT World Challenge which some of you may know a retired old racer called Valentino Rossi is competing in this season.
Didn't really know what to expect but had a cracking day out- public access to the lower Paddock and a very friendly 'club race' kind of atmosphere and seeing Rossi round a relatively narrow (full GP) circuit with almost zero run off compared to what he has been used to was definitely a sight with far closer racing than any Formula One I've bothered to watch in recent years.
If you're close by or can get there before Midday, there's worse ways to spend a Sunday.
