Hi all,

What are people’s thoughts on these stands? I was given one for use on my M1200, and I had the intention of using it over the winter, but looking at the blurb on websites it says they aren’t recommended for storage use. It’s the rear stand btw, in case that wasn’t clear.

So, how safe/sturdy are they?

TIA

I use a rear box aluminium type from bike tek.

Seem pretty decent, never let me down. Don’t know why they’d say they are not suitable for long term storage tbh.

On my conventional swingarm bikes that is. Obviously my 1100 evo is up on a stand specifically for SSWs

Obviously this one is also single side, and it appears to be solid. Although looks count for nothing, which is why I’m asking on here.

Once the bike is on the stand I can't see how long making any difference.
However if the pin that goes in the axle is bare steel there may be some corrosion issues.
Maybe it's zinc plated, which might lead to electrolytic corrosion?
Protecting it with grease or paint would solve that.

Do you mean the ones on Castors ?

I have two, one for each - they are invaluable for manovering the bikes around in tight spaces. Have to be careful pushing them backwards though as they can flip off them if the stand base catches and the bike tries to carry on moving.

I am looking into this one so I can move the bike around the garage easily...

The Constands one looks exactly like the Bike Tek one?

I put the bike on the stand tonight but I think it looked like it was leaning slightly when on, so I took it off as I didn’t want to go and find the bike on its side on the floor tomorrow. Maybe I’m just too cautious, new bike and everything
