It's never too early to start your Christmas list!

This new volume from Alan Cathcart looks like a good companion to Ian Falloon's Monster Bible and would grace any Ducatisti's coffee table. It only covers two-valvers though, so probably of most interest to Luddites like me.

Not cheap at around £50 but then nothing bearing the Ducati name is, is it?!

I met Alan Cathcart and his son a few years ago at the Ramsey Sprint when he was racing his Vee Two Squalo, absolutely great people to chat to and he was well chuffed that I knew about the bike he was racing.Alan told me that he bought it with a rather large discount, ahem, wink wink!!!Very rare bike for sure.

I’m putting this on my list: not sure I’ve been that good though!

If I’m not mistaken, that’s a RoadRacing tank with the cutaway around the rear cylinder head. Only concern (Apart from cost) is that it’s all painted, whereas others I’ve seen have exposed alloy and painted panels around the Ducati decals: Could the paint be hiding damage?

Possibly, and it looks like a crappy rattle can paint job too, so I would budget for a professional re-spray.
