UKMOC members are invited to this year’s event on Saturday 14th August.

Following the success of last year’s online ticketing arrangements, we will once again offer this facility. We would like to move away from taking cash on the gate. Last year's event was subject to Covid restrictions which limited numbers, so we had to offer online ticketing for it to go ahead. Going digital worked extremely well and proved so much more convenient for all involved. Online tickets will be available until a few days before the event. Payment is through PayPal.

For tickets please see: https://www.ukbuellgroup.co.uk/448646055

Looks like we're not going to bother with the Gazebo this year Chris, so no need to reserve a plot. We will try and gather together as Monsters when we get there, so just a corner will do.. Cheers.

It's a big windy wide open airfield so don't worry about getting too close to anyone and catching anything... :D

Hoping to make this, will know nearer the time but, Monster may not be recovered from gearbox surgery by then so would be on a different bike.

Have to sit on the naughty step I assume... :grump:

It'll be good to see you Tim, on the 916 or Le Mans, since I have not seen either and both fit the Italian bike remit, so no naughty step..

Apologies for my lateness but I'm just about to order a last minute ticket.
One question though .. how do the online tickets actually work .. do I need a printer to print it off or a modern phone to download it and display on arrival ? .. I have neither of these facilities.
Or can I just quote a number or simply ride in on the strength of my bike's registration number ?

Chris Jessop
11-08-2021, 07:23 PM
Simples, just quote your 3 digit ticket number and your name, we'll check you off the list when you arrive and you ride straight in. You don't even have to remove your gloves!

Mr Gazza
11-08-2021, 07:37 PM
Thanks for that Chris, as I'm in the same boat as Utopia in that respect. I'll try and memorise the number and make a note of my name.. :D

Please note, if you're thinking of coming folks, ticket sales close at midnight tomorrow. Thursday 12th August.

Looks like we've already got a good crowd. We don't have a designated area this year, but head to the area in front of the NAAFI and we'll try and circle the wagons there.

Unless it's too late for Chris to point us to a spare corner?

A piece of masking or electrical tape on your screen with your number & name on, then you don't have to remember either!

Relaxing day out wondering around a WW2 airfield oggoling Italian metal with the sound of merlins in the background.
Good to see everyone today, plus meet some new faces.
Thanks to Tim and Geoff for a spirited ride back to Bourne, where we parted company.

Lovely ride over there taking the byways.
Nice to see old mates again but too hot and glary to stay too long.
Hundreds of interesting bikes, so took a few snaps.

Remembered why I don't ride very much in August and encountered far too many hammerheads going across Boston, until I got behind a police car on the A16 doing 60.00000mph, which did at least keep the hammerheads off my tail!
Apart from crossing Wisbekistan, I managed to go from Spalding to Castle Acre without using a trunk road of any sort, but jeez was it bumpy!

Nice show this year Chris.. Well done and thanks.. :D

Ha .. as soon as I saw your first photo, I knew what was coming.

And yes, it was a grand day out.
Loads of interesting bikes to see as usual but I do agree .. the 750 Ducatis were top of the list ;)

Apart from a couple of short trundles to recommission the bike after its covid layoff, that was the first proper ride that I've done since march 2019.
Great to meet up again after all this time .. and to meet a couple of new faces too.
The only downside was the queue outside the naafi, which refused to get even the tiniest bit shorter at any time during the three or four hours that we watched it, forcing us to make an early departure in search of ham, eggs and chips at a local hostelry.

The ride home was indeed a good one but I have to say, James, it got even better after we parted company at Bourne.
The roads from there back to Tim's neck of the woods around Melton are pretty damn wonderful .. just major enough to be well maintained and free of gravel outwash etc but still minor enough to be full of twists and turns as they wind their way through forgotten middle english countryside and devoid of much traffic to speak of.
I've followed Tim along those roads a few times over the years and it quickly became one of my favourite, local(ish) runs.

Yep, all in all a grand day out.
Only downside is that I've just realised, via a photo on "another" forum that there was a Bimota Tesi there (complete with hub-centre steering).
I could probably have spent another hour gazing at that.
Maybe it'll be there next year.

The road out of Bourne in the direction of Melton I've used many times, if memory serves me correctly, it's part of a route known locally as 'The Rutland TT' cracking road. We used another part of the route when we held The Weekender at the Sharnbrook.

The queue for at the NAFI was a pita, which after poppng in there earlier in the day for a cuppa in not surprised. The service was slow. However the pub we stop for food was interesting!

Yes, good to see you all again.

The Melton to Bourne road is always one of my favourites though you need to be alert to wildlife - I've seen a couple of Deer strikes along there in the last few years and actually had a Rabbit run out at me and pass under the Monster, between the wheels to come out the other side unscathed, though I suspect his ears might have got a little warm!
