Hi, having recently acquired a Monster I thought I'd join the Monster Owners Club forum, thanks for letting me in.

My Monster is a 821 Stripe which was only registered in February 2020 and only completed 195 miles when it arrived with me. Absolutely loving the bike, so agile and the sound is intoxicating :)

My other bikes are a 2007 Triumph Bonneville and a 2008 Triumph Street Triple

Welcome on board Scrappy.

I see you are partial to MVs too: another fine Italian marque.

Welcome along.
From Kettering, I see.
Not far down the road from me in Leicester.
Maybe our paths will cross once the world gets back to more like normal.

You've probably seen this but I can't resist posting it anyway ....

Do they all come with those ugly reflectors on the fork legs now, or is it US spec?

Welcome!

If I were you, get a curly lead from your disc lock to your front brake lever pronto before you witness a horrible and expensive domino scenario.

Thanks. MV do make some beautiful bikes, but out of my budget at the moment, the garage signage is an aspiration :)

There are some good roads between Leicester and Kettering

Yes all bikes have the reflectors now (usually easily removed), it may be an EU thing?

How do you find it to ride next to the streety.

I’ve got a streety RS along side my 1100 evo…very very different animals.

They are different characters, which is great as it actually makes me appreciate each more for those differences, and the same is true of the Bonneville.

However as a mate recently asked "if you could keep only one, which would it be?" and my answer was definitely the Monster.

I'll be up for some meet ups, when our overlords seem fit to set us free.

Hello and welcome Scrappy-do.. :mand:

Pleased to hear that you're up for some rides out to meet up. I am the club rep for Norfolk, but Grumpy and I more or less manage to fill the diary for East Anglia and beyond between us, with a little help from our friends.
When the pipeline is open again there are dates coming up in Oakham, Ramsey, East Kirkby, Sharnbrook and Wimbotsham to hint at just a few.
We also try and meet up for a Sunday breakfast once a month at a place of interest, not necessarily motorcycle orientated, aircraft and Cold-War era history seem to prevail, but cake and a full English are top of the list.

I have an e-mail group for local members and I send out regular newsletters and meet dates, that's been a bit dormant lately!.., but we are ready to start working our way through the venues that were planned for last year as soon as we can. I can add your email to the list if you wish to keep abreast of stuff going on. Just pm me your address.
That goes for anyone else interested of course..

Is there any Scotland/central Scotland reps to organise rides?

I keep seeing a 796 (I think) cruising about mostly Edinburgh area. Belly pan and high level carbon termi’s.

We love a volunteer Ron... build it and they will come ;-)

Oh! Volunteering to be responsible / in charge of something. That is definitely one of my mental blocks :chuckle:

Yeah I could definitely volunteer. Let me know if I need to fill in some sort of official form or that. Then I’ll head over the area reps section to be a pest. :mand::mand:

Thanks for your email address Scrappy, you'll be the first to know when something happens.

Ron; as Rob alluded, if the will is there it's not that hard to get things happening in your area. Most recently Moco and Buzzbomb were instrumental in forming the North-West section, they quickly rose to great heights and already have a memorable weekender under their belts. Great times and strong friendships are born.
I'm happy to pass on any tips and help out if I can.. It's a piece of cake. :mand:
