I've seen images of these before, but am not aware of who made them.

It was sold to me as a Ducati Performance part, but I'm sure it isn't.

It would appear to replace the early Monster Tea Tray, Indicators, and Number Plate Mount.

Anyone know the history of them?

Thanks

Nasher.

'Tis indeed a Ducati Performance part. I have one on my M900 and whilst the indicators are a little too close to each other to be optimal, I do like it as it is much shorter than the original setup whilst not requiring a tail chop.

Thanks Dd, all the other DP Carbon parts I've seen have had a DP label laminated in underneath, but this has nothing.

I nearly bought one of these new when I had my M900 but went for the standard shape in carbon instead.

It was in the Ducati Performance catalogue that Moto Rapido gave me and had the part no. 96911599C and was for models up to 1999.

It was originally made for Ducati by Gio.Ca.Moto with the part no. 09112.

A little bit of history from the 1999 catalogue.

Thanks Luddite the part number is really helpful.

My M900 was tail chopped years ago before I got it, so it's not going on there and I'm thinking of selling it but have no idea of what it's worth.
I've found two new ones for sale, one in Japan for 69,300Yen, @£540, and one in Germany for 340 Euros.

So silly money, I might just keep it for a while in case I build up another M900 with period accessories.

There were probably some period copies knocking around too. I did read somewhere, I can't remember where that the indicator units are from a Fiat car, probably a Panda or a 500 or something similar.

 If that's what they're worth I might sell mine.

Seriously though, I don't remember what I paid but definitely less than £100 and from a Ducati dealer IIRC, but it was probably on offer.

What I like about it is that it is shorter and simpler than the original (rather complex) affair but not so short that it makes a high-level exhaust bike look like a wheelbarrow, which you tend to get if you tail chop.

I saw tatty one for sale on ebay that had a broken light unit a little while back for around £80 if that's any help?

Thanks Gents.

I'll contemplate what to do whilst I'm torturing myself at the Gym tonight.

I also have some unused genuine Ducati performance M/SS 600/750 Carbon belt covers to move on so need to figure out what they are worth too.

I'm hoping to raise some cash to cover having the ECU remapped on my 1000SSie DS to suit the mods I'm doing.

I think you should be covered. The belt covers should be easy to shift, the tea tray is I guess an acquired taste but it's kinda neat if a bit ugly but period and less ugly than the standard early Monster rear end was (is). Better than a tail chop on an original Monster too, but don't start me on that one! :)

Would you believe Stein-Dinse have a NOS item still available?! (€372)

In that case, I wonder what my NOS RoadRacing polished ally numberplate & indicators bracket is worth?

Yea, I have one of those on my 748 actually but I bought it from bankrupt stock way back when and like an idiot at the time, I cut the plate bracket down because it was sized for large euro style number plates, with a bolt in each corner, it still looks good, just missing the bottom 2 bolt holes. :) I actually would maybe swap it for carbon DP one if you know anyone who would like to swap one? But I have a number of other RoadRacing bits on the bike so it kinda fits with the theme.

I have one of those carbon tail parts. The funny thing is that in the hand it looks a bit Mickey Mouse but I have seen pictures of them on bikes and they don't look half bad. Open to offers if anyone wants to buy it.
