is it an early 600? I can only get neutral with engine of or bike moving. Aparently thats how the early one s were. Although I'm comp used to it now
My 750SS was exactly the same. Wouldn't go into neutral unless motor was stopped or bike was moving.
I think it's called "character" or something :D

It's a 2001 model...
So it's just Italian craftsmanship then...

One of my dodgy old 125's was similar. I found rocking the bike to and fro helped a bit.

or maybe it just needs the clutch bleeding

I think that this is normal - my 620ie has done this from new and nearly all magazine road tests say the same - I don't think that it is anything to worry about. When the engine is still cold it is best to select neutral whilst still rolling just before comming to a complete stop.

My R reg does the whole, not going to go into neutral unless moving or engine off, too! Phew ! And I thought it was just my bike.

My last one was an 02, one of the last before the injected. I used to have the same problem only I though it was at random - turned out that I had got into the habit of selecting neutral just before I stopped without knowing about it.
