Hi guys, I've just put a pair of Bridgestone 016 on my s4r and amazed at the difference it has made to the bike, I've used Diabolo's for the last 10 years but had a spill last year and totally lost confidence in the tyres, I started looking at dual compound tyres and spoke to lots of people about them eventually deciding on 016 pro's from Sticky Stuff in Telford - £138 a pair delivered!! They really have transformed the way the bike feels, no more shimmying on overbanding or white lines, super grippy and confidence inspiring, only done a few hundred miles on them so far but I'm absolutely made up with them.

If the question does not sound too impertinent, was it the same diablos for 10 years or have you had several pairs in that time?

Many pairs Gazza, I do 2-3000 miles per year so a rear every 2 years & front every 4, in theory the Bridgestone tyres should last longer being dual compound but grip & fast warm up were the deciding factors for me (and price of course)

Glad to hear it. I was worried that you were trying to ride on ten year old tyres!
I recently bought a 750SS and the seller would not give me the date stamps on the tyres.. Anyway I got him to deliver it because I didn't want to ride it.. The tyres turned out to be 9 years old. (they look like new though!)
I give my tyres a 5 year life, but they're usually worn out long before that.

I first had Diablo Stradas on my Monster and I think it handled better on those than the dual compound Angel ST's. I get between 6000 to 9000 out of them.

I've had the s4r for 5 years, before that I had a 900 monster for a decade, I used to get diabolo supercorsa pro's from a guy in Burton on Trent for£50 a pair (part worn race tyres) which were like riding on velcro but struggled to get 1500 miles out of them.

I've fitted BT016's to my Griso after trying several different makes. Transformed the handling. Tracks well, no shimmying, excellent in the wet. For an older tyre design, very impressive.

I had BT016s on my GSX-R600. Good tyres.
