Hi rebuilding a monster that I had bought. She hadn't been well cared for at all and I am trying to get her back to full health. I was doing the clutch and found a nice bit of endfloat in the primary gearbox shaft as I can even get a small amount of up down movement on the shaft.
Question is is this normal or is it time to split the engine and pull the box apart.

Thanks as measured it and looks like around 0.15mm of endfloat. The clutch basket complete seems to have a bit of lateral play too.

Whats the mileage? Could be the clutch is due for a replacement anyway, maybe around >20k ish depends on how it has been abused by DPO

The manual for MY02 620/750ie says 0.05mm - 0.15mm for the gearshafts
and 0.1mm - 0.4mm for the selector drum

Well just an update I ended up splitting the casing as there turned out to be a worn bearing that was throwing the measurements out.
