Spacey - you are also right.

The tyre manufacturers have one reccommendation, the bike manufacturers often have a lower recco.

example: AK had his at Bridgestone's recco, but has now let them down to Ducati recco - and finds the bike handles better.
I've done the same, as michelin recco just sent me bouncing everywhere:eek:

So we could all be right:D

C

ps - Kaysee - we tied - cos you did bar & I did psi:p :p

My hand book says;

Front 2.1 bar
Rear 2.2 bar

Increase by 0.2/3 bar when riding on bumpy roads!

All pressures to be set/measured when cold.

well that caused quite a stir.

i converted the bar that kaysee gave as thats the same as the monster manual and it comes out at

2.2 bar = 31.91 psi
2.5 bar = 36.26 psi

sorry if i offended anyone with pic. i just thought it was funny.

here's another

CK, you win, after further consideration I think 2.1 bar front & 2.2 rear is nearer the right presssure.

2.2/2.5 are more like the pressures for my "monster".

That is monster as in large ugly behemoth

as Paul620 said:

I ussually go for
front 2.3 / rear 2.5 and seems to work great... (+0.2 fr + 0.3 re from book)

I do ride in bumpy roads (london) and a lot of the time the girlfriend jumps on the back (hence the extra 0.1 in the rear- she is tiny...)

I think anywhere in between those is ok. try a few setting and see the difference in the handling...

hope it helps

I have scanned this article for anyone interested. It's in *.pdf format so you will require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.
Use this link: Tyre pressures (http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~dpearson/tyrepressures.pdf)

I hope this is useful :burnout:

30 -32psi Front and 36 rear
94 900 Monster, currently on Dunlop D207GP`s  :D

The most important thing is get yourself an accurate pressure gauge...
Halfrauds sell a "Pencil Gauge" for about £3.50 made by PCL and more accurate than Most on sale, fits in the "Tool Kit" under the seat nicely as well. ;) :D

Check pressures when cold, ride bike....and check pressures when hot as well, so if you get caught out you know what to top them up to;)
And always fill over pressure, then bleed air out down to correct pressure as well ;) Much more accurate
