I'm looking to remove the ugly cat silencer thing on the standard exhausts to make my bike sound like Ducati thought it should.

Is this the kit I need ?
Just checking before I buy the wrong thing.

Mine has Termignoni engraved into the alloy but apart from that they are standard set up.

That looks like the correct de-cat pipe, I've fitted a few of those in the past and the quality is first class.

Has yours got an O2 sensor ? my s2r1000 has ,if so make sure the decat pipe has the thread for one...

The 800 didn’t have the O2 sensors.
That does look like the right pipe, the 800 and s4r use the same piece so if it’s advertised for both then it should fit onto the standard short headers.

Hell no!;):D, but then I bought mine back in 2005/6 and I've found with pretty much all my bikes there is a 'window of cheap spares' that lasts a few years after the bike is released and as time goes on the price of these same spares make them more and more expensive.
I found the trick with some of it is to identify which parts are common across several models which lets you widen the search terms, but some bits, and I think the decat pipe is one of them, will always be fairly specific and after the bike goes out of production many firms cease making options for them so the parts get harder to find and as a consequence get more expensive.

I aquired lots of little bits for my S2R and my SC, some of which I may never get round to using but when I look at parts prices these days( SC mono seat on ebay for £200+ and I paid £10 for an identical one for instance) I'm glad I have as much as I need or want.
My other bikes are the same, those spares command eye watering prices for basic bits.

The only comment I might make about that ad is the photo seems to include the front header which has a visible spring securing it, the standard headers dont use springs, this might just be lazy photo editing but I wouldn't expect it to be included in that price.

Note that Spark do two versions; one for models up to and including 2006 (GDU8501) and the one you have found for the 2007 model (GDU8508).

I just checked on DPP website and they're asking £299 for a stainless S2R de-cat pipe.

The 2007 has an O2 sensor, but this isn't a 2007 so not important....

It will fit, but you'll probably need a plug and gasket/washer to plug the sensor hole. The kits include the 'front pipe' (did on mine anyway).

If you do deside to purchase a de-cat pipe I'd personally recommend the spark as the quality, fit and finish are second to none.

OK thanks, where sells them other than ebay ? I take it that's a Spark one in the ad I posted ?
