Anyone have some advise on a new 38t rear sprocket for Norah (2000 M900ie) please?

Mine has decided to buckle - good job I decided to check my chain tension yesterday !!

Thanks

Hi Chris,

I bought Stealth Supersprox rear. Its lighter to gain weight performance :) but if that weren't enough reason its also an eye catching shade of gold & black (the real reason).

Now when you say yours has buckled what do you mean? Buckled due to the strain of the mighty Monster 900ie engine? Has the metal bent? Post a pic por favor senor?

Thanks Jez - hope you are well well well!
Norah was a wreck when I bought her - everything out of line and badly worn.
Replaced rear and front sprockets and chain (did) - quality for front and a 'cheapo' for the rear - sprockets.
Has been ok for some time then got tied up in more serious primary shaft, cam drive and valves problems.
Replaced clutch plates the other day (friction) - big improvement. Had a 'misfire' at around 6k revs with the throttle wide - big 'snatch' - but carried on regardless
Checking chain tension yesterday and experienced a tight spot which I could not remove so assumed a 'buckled' rear sprocket, although haven't certified yet.

Personally I would have thought a tight spot in the chain would be down to wear in the rollers rather than a sprocket buckling unless it really was made of cheese like metal.

Although my experiences with DID chains have always been excellent so will be interested to hear what you find.

Sounds like you are keeping on top of things Chris - redone valves and clutch!

Why not go up to a 41 when you change?

A 41 an improvement but a 43 is better imo...

But may be a bit revvy combined with a 14 tooth front. :mand:
