Hi I will be picking up a new Monster 1200 next friday, standard 1200.
I'm trading in my Suzuki GSX-S1000.
Its 3 years old and done 11,000 miles completed two trips round europe has performed brilliantly but fancy a change.
Anything i need to know? apart from putting some Ternignonis on it, might have to wait a bit as they are big money.
Oh thanks to Rob for sorting access to site

1200 Monsters rock, huge fun, good choice.
Plenty of other options instead of termis, you’ll find offerings from Arrow, Spark, akrapovic, Mivv, SC Project etc. No remapping needed
On the standard model upgrade suspension

On the standard model upgrade suspension
Having owned a standard 1200, I agree. The suspension was wooden in its feel.
As for exhaust, plenty of choice without going down the termi route. My fitment of choice was a Werkes....beautiful deep rich noise.
radiator/oil cooler guards too

Welcome to the forum Killjoy, only got my 1200s delivered three days ago. Now looking at some bling but wont be getting termis, way too expensive.

What exhaust are you thinking of getting? how is the bike going?
Is it 600 for 1st service?

I got an SPengineering Diadolus xls pipe in black for it on Tuesday, fitted it as soon as the original pipe was cold enough to grab hold of and took the bike out for a run, think I might have to put the baffle in but pleased with it although I had to do a bit of jiggery pockery to get it to fit nice. My comfort seat should be here tomorrow so that will make it more comfortable and the first "free" (my arse) service is at 625 miles but I am in ne rush to get it done as it's a busy time of year and I have other bikes. Good luck with yours.

Now a MONSTER owner
First impression riding position nearly the same as gsx-s so all good, Seat is very soft compared to the Big GSX which is a good point. Not sure how Ducati managed it but i can barely hear the exhaust when riding!!! the Suzuki was quite loud as standard. new exhaust is now a priority:-)
The suspension is a lot more compliant or the GSX was very hard as standard.. Very pleased and have made the right decision.
