Disengaging exhaust valve.

Decided to remove activating cable at the valve end, so electric motor still going through its proceedures, seems to be ok, but now showing engine warning light on dash.....I thought that the warning light only came on when the motor unit was unplugged from the wiring harness? How do I get the light out? :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

There are many very cheap ways to do it, one involves making a plate to fit the pulley on the motor, another is to fit a spring to the cable so that it can pull that cable about 16mm.
I have the electronic box as shown above on the Supersport but not yet disabled the 821.

Thanks for that info, I was aware of these plug in units, thought that they were only required if the servo was disconnected on the electrical side....
Assume there is no problem running with the engine management light on, while I get sorted out?:hail:

The ECU measures the distance that the servo revolves so you can deal with it either mechanically, by physically restricting its movement to mimic the flapper valve, or electronically with a Healtech or duc.ee plug-in as mentioned by Unit 18.

Another electronic solution is to fit either of the DP ECUs since neither of them uses the servo or you can get your standard ECU remapped by Neil at Cornerspeed http://cornerspeed.co.uk/tuning.php A remap will allow you not only to remove the servo but also the O2 sensors as well and it will improve the fuelling.
