I just noticed this on my tank yesterday and wondered if anyone knows what it is or had experience of it? I've never spilled any fuel (as far as I can remember) so no idea what has caused it ....at the moment I'm thinking of getting back to the dealer about to 'fix' / replace...

It's a 2016 1200S by the way...

That does look like paint blistering in the photo but if you park beneath a tree you sometimes get similar looking "blemishes" which are actually little droplets of resinous goo excreted either by the tree itself or by insects living thereon.
So just to be sure, try gently scraping one with your fingernail.

Anyway, it can't be acne ... its only two years old, not in its teens.

Or spray WD40 on the blemishes, wait a few mins and wipe off with a rag. If they are still there its an issue with the paint.

Cheers Utopia and Jez. I've given it a soak in WD40, tried a scrape with my (finger!) nail but no joy...looks like bubbling paint...will get on to dealer...only got in August last year so should be managed under warranty with any luck...

Yes, that's what I thought too. Friday afternoon paint job! There's no paint shop at the factory, everything is bought in already painted but I did see Mario going around with his rattle can and newspaper touching up a scratched 1198 frame when I was last there!
