Well, the weather is getting better!!!? and the clocks go back soon.

Who fancys a Bedford area meet, before the Monster weekender? Say early April?

Let me know if you are interested and I'll sort something out.

What's best, evening or weekend?

Suggest we meet, take in a few local twisties and stop for some light refreshment. Anybody know any good local bike friendly stops?

Chris.

I'm not strictly in your area (Milton Keynes), but I'd try and join you on a ride out.

Sounds okay :D

But does that clash with F1, SBK or MotoGP?

I am up for that, (not sure whether this thread was started before you mentioned it on that other one Chris). Be nice tu ride with some experienced people, might learn some good habits.....or some bad ones. My house mate has just passed his test and bought a Virago 535 (he picked it up on saturday), it dunt go round corners too good. On the way home, while calling me a wa@*er with his left hand, he had not the confidence to lean it over a tad further and mounted the curb just before a roundabout. Luckily the wet grass cushioned his fall as he went over the handlebars, could of been fatal but wasn't so how we laughed. :D

Like I said, the more the merrier.

Once I have a better idea of who is coming and from where, I'll sort out a few roads to go down and somewhere to meet.

The normal route for visitors to Befors is to try the B660 but it has severe speed restrictions now but still worth it. The pub, the Sun in Kimbolton is biker friendly and can be contacted in advance.
There are lots of minute roads that I have discovered whilst trying to avoid using the M1 around Woburn.
Alternatively there are some nice roads to the East of the county taking in places like Hatley St George.
By now I am stir crazy so any excuse to go out however much I wobble.

Your thoughts please...

I was thinking of heading up the B660 from Bedford to Peterborough, over to Rutland Water for a pub stop, down through Rockingham to Northampton and back to Bedford. (just over 100 miles in all)

How does that sound to you guys? We could meet up with the MMM at Rutland if they're up for it.

If that's too far (particularly for Lee & Proto) let me know and I'll re-think.

I'm up for it.

Rutland water.......... brings back memories from 20yrs ago when I spun my little Austin 1300 several times on a snow packed road running along side the reservoir. Fortunately I survived and so did the car!

Well it looks like that that then, just have to think of a time. It's a good ride out to Rutland from L'boro' through Melton etc.

So far, Me, MartinB, and Paul from down this way, meeting you MMM lot. How about meeting at the pub on the peninsular (Finches Arms I think) for lunch?

Migs,
Best road I know out your way is the A507. Went over that wat towards Soutend a couple of times last year.

Julie
