I notice the 821 has the usual Ducati quality bolts as they've started to corrode/look crap already (As has the rear shock) :grump:

Is it worth getting the ProBolt stainless ones or would the same happen to them as well?

I quite like the titanium ones from RaceBolt in Brizzle.

Stainless or titanium are highly corrosion resistant compared to the stock cadmium plated steel ones. Do not use stainless on brake caliper or suspension mounts unless it’s a grade specified for that use. SS & Ti bolts also want copper grease or similar to stop them seizing through galvanic action. There are far cheaper suppliers than Probolt/Racebolt out there for general SS stuff.

Anywhere you would recommend? I guess it's best to go Ti on the caliper bolts. Most likely I'll only be replacing the most visible ones for now

Do they do vibranium

I can personally recommend Kays Fasteners for the stainless stuff. Great prices, speedy dispatch and free delivery. (I've found with Probolt and Racebolt, if you only want a couple of bolts, then their postage charge is often more than the bolts themselves.)

Do you know if there is a list of all the engine bolt sizes that \i could use to order them, or does someone supply sets?

You can buy sets on ebay, like these;

Thanks Darren!

These are listed as A2-70 stainless steel, is this as good or better than A4?
These are not polished either, aren't polished items less likely to tarnish?
To be honest, the price is lower than I expected, so that is why I am a bit quizzical and don't want to end up with the wrong ones.

Sorry to ask so many questions, but its a fair size job and I really only want to do this once!

Any thoughts would be appreciated

A2 (304) stainless is less corrosion resistant than A4 (316) but still not bad in a non-marine environment and a little cheaper. The 70 refers to tensile strength (700N/mm^2), most of what you’ll find readilly available will be 70 or 80 and fine for non-critical (brakes, suspesion pivots, cylinder studs etc) applications.

Thanks Slob for clearing that up. BTW the link to thread with the lists works, but the attachments with the info are all empty.

Unless anyone knows better, it seems buying the entire set from ebay for £25ish takes away all the hassel and is possibly cheaper than buying each piece separately?

I might as well ask here - who is the go to supplier for the disk bolts & Brembo bolts? Any reccomendations?

I forsee a fair amount of time spent in the shed replacing these bolts one at a time. I've already bought my copper grease!

It's a good idea when removing disk bolts to get a warm air gun to gently heat each individual bolt as when the disks are installed they're usually coated in a fair amount of locktite which can be a bugger...

Thanks for the tip - I will get a warm air gun.

BTW, I've never seen pics of your bike before today - it looks great. All Monsters are cool, but my fave ones are the personalised bikes. Congrats on your mods and winning the trophy.
