Sorry they're a bit late this year.
I'll ramble on about them later but first, without further ado, here they are ....

Note that these are available to weekender attendees only.

http://www.thelasturl.net/UKMOC/WE18/WE18Tws.jpg

http://www.thelasturl.net/UKMOC/WE18/WE18Tgs.jpg

Printed in full colour on Gildan, short sleeved, "softstyle" cotton t-shirts, they are available in either light grey or white, and in men's or ladies fit.
Sorry, but no other shirt colours are possible.

Price £15 delivered (probably by monster  ) to the venue.
I'll pm everyone with payment details.

Sizes are as follows.

Men's fit
size (to fit chest) ..... S (34/36), M (38), L (40/42), XL (44/46), XXL (48/50), 3XL (52). inches

Ladies fit
size (ladies size) ..... S (6), M (6/8), L (10), XL (12/14), XXL (14/16).

Make a list, including size of shirt (S,M,L etc), and colour (grey or white).
For simplicity, I'll assume men's fit unless you tell me otherwise .. or I know you.
To avoid errors, if you want more than one, please make an individual listing for each shirt.
Also please include the day/s on which you will be attending, and I'll find you and pass the shirt on.

Do you do a kids size one? My two year old might be coming on Sunday.

utopia

I now have this mental image ... a minimoto ... a black one with a red, trellis frame ......

Anyway.
How big is your two year old these days ?
The Gildan range does include the same shirt in kids sizes, with both colours available.
The smallest one listed is age 3 to 4 though, and is 26 inch chest measurement.
I can't check with Rick just now cos I know he's at a noisy pub gig and he wont hear his phone, but I'm sure he could and would do one of those .. or maybe could suggest something smaller even.
I think we would probably have to use the same image dimensions though, so it would have to fit the available cloth.

Jeff, is there a date for last orders?

There probably isn't, really.
One of the beauties of the printing process that we are using this time is that it doesn't have to be one-hit operation.
Also, the image is first printed onto a transfer medium and a whole batch of these can be printed in advance, only being printed onto the actual shirt in a final, quick operation.
This final process can be done individually, so we can cover late orders and possibly even do a few more retrospectively.

I checked with Rick though, and he says last orders could be as late as thursday.
So maybe wednesday would be more polite.
But anytime is ok, even after the event.

Thanks for your kind comments btw.
I'm not sure that its the best ever, but I am extremely pleased with the end result.
All things considered though, it is possibly my best ever.

I've been wearing samples every day for over three weeks now, and they've stood the test of time .. I always smile when I put them on.
I've even done a small gig in one, with my mate Tony.
We did the Monster lurve song too, and I gave the audience the whole 25th anniversary spiel.

edit

I'm now wondering how a late order would affect the ordering of the basic shirts.
Maybe Rick has that covered. Can't check now, but will do.
But I still think wednesday should be ok, ... I believe its next day delivery.

So, is that a "father and son" matching ensemble, Sir ?
You'd be the talk of the summer, seaside promenades.

Ha, perhaps.

Mrs jonzi is saying to NOT get white (if it is indeed possible to get a childs size)

Perhaps I should get him some leathers too.... for when he starts racing later in the year...

Yes, but if I may say so Sir, Mrs Jonzi herself would add a certain class to our white shirt, if she were to wear one.
We could offer a family discount, Sir ......?

:):)

I'll confirm with Rick, mate, but I think its probably a goer.
Don't hold your breath but we also just might have a smaller image left over from earlier samples .. I'll check that too.
And I anticipated the grey.
Been there ......

A bit more ramble, while I'm on the keyboard and my teacup is full.

Starting with a focus on this being the 25th anniversary year ....
Early design attempts involved both the red M900 original and the yellow anniversary model 821 as main images.
But the balance was wrong and image matching was tricky.
We lost a lot of time trying to make that work, hence most of the delay.

With the new image, the aim was to create something simple and effective, but also to include some detail interest and an element of "something for everyone" in the design.
Also, we were trying to create something which was small enough to make sense when viewed through an unzipped leather jacket, yet was still big enough to work on its own.
Hence the M900 pops through the unzipped jacket but the halo of bikes enlarges the effect when the shirt is worn solo.
The halo contains a spread of monsters which contains something which is hopefully at least fairly close to just about everyone's bike, and also suitably reflects the model progression over the years, and the range of colours.
The anniversary 821 still has a prime slot at 12 o-clock, with the tricolore S4RS next in prominence at 6 o-clock ... just "because".
All of the images appear lifelike at medium distance, but close inspection reveals a bit of graphic enhancement, which adds a nice little edge.
And the ukmoc logo is clearly visible, with or without jacket, but is still nicely restrained.
Gazza produced the lovely little roundel style 25th anniversary sleeve print design, with its union jack and tricolore emblems and silver (anniversary) detailing .. well we got as near to silver as we could print anyway.

By this time it was dawning on us that the main imagery of the evolving design would actually also be rather well suited to a more general release, 25th anniversary shirt.
That may not be possible, but we kept the option open when choosing a print process.
So...

We experimented with two print methods which would give us flexibility of supply over a long period, rather than a "one-hit" screen print run.
In the end, we developed one of these into a third, "middle-road" method which produced the desired result.
This method (and one of its forebears) only works on pale colours though. Originally, we thought that only white was possible.
Which was fine, as we had decided to avoid the usual black this year anyway and were thinking of using white.
But I leaned on Rick a bit and got him to sample a few other colours.
The pale grey came out of that and tbh, is my personal favourite.
But I can divulge that I now also own samples in sky blue and shocking yellow .. but they're in the earlier process and require polyester shirts.

Anyway, mix that lot together with the necessary copyright protocols and a myriad of nips and tucks and we ended up with what you see.
And hopefully will enjoy wearing.

I must say that everyone involved has worked very well together, despite the inherent pitfalls and long distance communications.
Rick the printer deserves particular thanks for the time, advice and helpful work he has put in.
We have been on our third pot of tea well after midnight on three or four occasions.
I have already thanked him on behalf of myself and the club though, via a bit of engineering on his vintage mountain bike.

So there you go.
The story behind the shirt.
Bit of casual reading.

Thanks to the club for being worth the effort.

Must end there.
My butt ring is now firmly stuck.
And I'm ready to proceed with the whipping.

.......... old, cane fishing rod !

Jonzi ...
I spoke to Rick this morning and he confirms, yes kids sizes can be done.
He even suggested that the same colour grey shirt is available in a slightly heavier cotton, and these are available in even smaller, toddler sizes.
You may prefer to stick with one that he'll grow into anyway, but if not, measure his chest and we can pick an appropriate size.
Also, Rick said that it probably is possible to reduce the image size to match the shirt.

Righto, time to order the shirts for printing.
More can be printed at any time, even after the event, but now is probably the last shout to order the plain shirts if they're to be printed and ready for the weekender.
Though we can possibly still handle the odd straggler from stock, depending on size.

I now have the shirts and they're packed on the bike, ready to roll......

In case there's still time for folk to see this post before they set off ....
I reckon that, because the shirts are a bit late this year, I might as well collect payment in cash at the weekender, for those that have the cash with them.
Alternatively, I'll give you my paypal details and you can send payment afterwards.
I'm happy to do either but it would be good to get as much as possible sorted on the day,.
Price is £15 per shirt.

(The tip was stay away from Stafford if you want to stay on the track)
