Is there any software available for doing a service reset on the wifes 2018 M821? There is nothing yet for my 2017 Supersport, but thought tha M821 might be different.

All I have on mine is a digital trip reset.

Yes I reset it with my digits.

As for the services, I write it all down in a little book using Graphite 2018 with a reverse delete function. (That's a pencil with a rubber on the end)

Sadly my other bike doesn't even have a trip meter, but it does have a digitally operated alternative fuel supply. (reserve tap) and a starting handle.. :D

Funny, but of no use at all.

I assume JPdiag (http://jpdiag.xooit.eu/t4572-Monster-821-Maintenance-reset.htm) was no help? the latest Siemens ECUs were encrypted from 2017 (I think) onwards, which slways results in a delay for aftermarket solutions.

Not sure on JPdiag yet, it does not work for my new Supersport. I can't try it on the M821 as I am without any windows computer at the moment. I assume then that both bikes are the Siemens ECU.

As far as I’m aware they’re essentially the same underneath.

Normally only a dealership can do this throught DDS. Give your local dealer a call..

The local dealer is quite a distance away. I was hoping that I could do it in the same way that I could do my 848 sbk in the past. Guess I will have to do the service myself and live with the service light on.

So it looks like the Graphite method after all.. :p

No, you can not do it like on the 848. Just put some tape over the service warning :spin:

If you have the Siemens/Continental ecu JP's other software M3C (http://jpdiag.akress.com/) might work, it does for the 1100s

1100S was produced before encryption was introduced on Seimens ECUs

I have downloaded the MC3 software, but cannot get it to install on the only Windows machine that I have, perhaps that is because it runs windows XP.
All the other IT here runs Linux.
Time to give up on this one I fear.

Virtual windows or run the app using cross-over ?

I am not quite that clever! I think that I would still need a copy of Windows to run in a virtual machine in Linux.
Don't understand the cross-over but :freak:

I think you need to install JPDiag first

I now have Jpdiag installed on an old windoze XP laptop that I found. The M3C9 software does not do much with the bike, Just shows a few temperatures, but they are way out from true.

I think as others have said the later post 2017 ECU's are encrypted. So JPDiag may connect but not be able to do anything useful.

It is the same with my new Supersport. Perhaps I should just wait and see what comes out in the future.
