I’ve just received this auto-translated email from Ducati Western Europe,
Anyone else interested?

Dear Presidents,

2018 is an important year for Ducati and especially for its icon, the Monster, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
To celebrate this exceptional anniversary, Ducati West Europe has decided to organize the Monster's largest gathering at the Sunday Ride Classic on Saturday, March 24,2018 at the Castellet Circuit.
The objective is clear: to meet the challenge of gathering more than 405 Monsters, which were gathered on 21 September 2008 in Hamme, south of Antwerp in Belgium, at the initiative of the Monster Owners Belgium. We are counting on our Belgian DOC friends to be back in the game, but also those from Switzerland, Italy and even Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany!

For the occasion, Ducati West Europe is selling a special admission ticket of €20 including VAT (1 person) for Saturday 24th March, including: entry and access to all the Sunday Ride Classic programming, as well as access to the new F1 track of the Castellet 5.8 km race track for the 2 rounds of the official Monster Parade and the Collector's gift of this event. The "Monsterists" honored, will be gathered in a dedicated car park which will be the first of many awards: the most beautiful Monster elected by the public, the most beautiful personalization, the Monsterist from further afield etc.... We will not lack imagination! Please find attached the press release dedicated to the event and sent out today to all the specialised press.

To participate ? Just buy your ticket from the following link: https://welovemonster-parade.myshopify.com/
Today a news is online on Ducati. fr

However, to make this anniversary a real success, we rely more than ever on your support and active participation. Above all, we want to enjoy with you, one of those unique and historic moments that only Ducati can imagine!

To do this, we ask you to promote it to all your Monster members and to relay the communication on your own digital media through the following Facebook post that you just need to Copy and Paste:
"To the 25th anniversary of the Monster! In 2018, the Monster will celebrate its 25th anniversary. For the occasion, Ducati will meet all Monster riders at the Sunday Ride Classic on Saturday, March 24,2018, for #welovemonster #parade25ansmonster. Learn more: https://goo.gl/Gj4Mdc "

We are particularly excited to launch this project with you and hope that you will be just as excited as we are.

I imagine you'll be busy fending off VIP invites and journalists once the weather warms up, your timing is spot on.

I think 16 of us were at the last World record in Belgium, so I'm going to try and make this one. It's about 13 hours from London to Paul Ricard, it may be a nippy start on the way to the chunnel and dull on French motorways but probably worth it once there. I'll have to find out whether there's camping... brrr!

Friday down, Sunday or Monday back, van just isn't playing the game, although if I'd just done a rebuild like Albie's there's no way I'd ride it down in March.

I would love to tbh just like WDW. I certainly would do a Belgium this year. I know there was the main dirty dozen in Belgium but there may have been odd ones too. If ever Ducati Uk want to borrow it Rob that's fine by me. I do intend to use it

Been to Paul Richard aswell, for the bol'dor. Going up and down the mountain road to the circuit, surrounded by French bikers going like the clappers, is an experience in its self!!

Thought about it hard and I'm bowing out, for reasons.

Wonder how many would come up from the South of France in March if we organised this at Snetterton?.. ;)

Have a nice trip.

Booked my ticket and Saturday night dinner, Plan so far looks like heading down with a couple of other members by van. Do you think the view from the circuit restaurant is as good as the one from the diner at Snetterton? ;-)

I rest my case... :chuckle:

Come to think of it I had quite a good view in the Snetterton Diner nearly 30 years ago, when I was chatting to Steve Parish's wife.
He was the other side of the table talking about the new G50 he was about to buy, which had some bits on it that I had made. It was his first single cylinder bike.

Name drop complete..

didn’t it used to be a bit further into the paddock in the early ‘80s? with a wee workshop called Red Rocket Racing where it is now.

Are you going to the weekender May 4th to May 6th..

I too would go for the hoot as 12 UKMOC did the 405 in Belgium for the record. Further down the Belgium weekends we had 35 plus attendees go just for the weekender. We used to get 60 plus at UK weekender and would love to see more every year and you cant say UKMOC isn't trying by moving around the UK to bring in more bikes. I only missed one in my years and that was last year. I never went the first year I joined as I was too shy tbh but regret it now.
Im not bothered particularly if France beat our 10 year record but it will be a shame I couldn't attend as wrong time of year and too far for me now in that time constraint of work holidays but if ever it was in Belgium or here count me in to beat it again. USA couldn't beat it I remember.

We all travelled further than the Essen chap, just not on the bikes, which given the time we had would have been a challenge.
I forgot just how boring northern France is, yawn.
