Rear brake cylinder monster 821 2015

I'm after a rear brake cylinder for my monster 821 2015.

My rear brake has got brand new pads but the pistons are not moving at all.

The existing one probably needs a good clean.

Personally I don't know my way around the monster that well (not yet at least) to be able to do it myself.

Hyside motorcycles advised me to get a new one so that they can fit it free of charge while for bleeding it or cleaning it I will get charged.

So I will basically end up paying the same money

Hang on a moment .... You get a new one so that they can clean the old one, which then leaves you with two ..
You'd have thought that they'd have whipped the old one off to see if it does just need a clean and it isn't just the master having been badly adjust (Oh yes it can be so it'll move but not pump any pressure).
As it doesn't work to start with then you're no worse off and also know that you actually do need to order an expensive part.

Oh and paying the same money ... only a few hundred difference ...

The new one should cost around £50 at the very tops.
With free installation is not that bad (I guess).

If the.old one will only need a good clean I reckon I could then sell it

I'd check that if I were you as you may be in for a nasty surprise.

Brembo callipers can cost several hundreds of pounds depending on specification and whether they are supplied in a special Ducati box.

If they only cost £50 there wouldn't be much of a market for second hand ones.

I've got a full seal set, cost me at least 20 something squid.

get a second look, the rear calipers are a right PIA, sometimes work, sometimes don't. Whr they're good they're fine, when not they are useless.

Brand new from Ducati £47 inc.
I'd try bleeding it first though. The caliper hangs upside down, so remove it from the carrier and sit on top of the disc so the bleed nipple is uppermost.
