You didn't mention the FREE priceless fuel cap which comes with it or the amazing 12 year old paint work...

"Tank with custom cap opening $1600, $600 decals and paint, $250 tank mount, priceless carbon Corsa cap?
I think $3000 is a fair price in this. The last cap I sold (1 month ago) went for $900 alone"

"Tank retails for $1280 and $600 to paint plus $60 in original old Cagiva Decals.

So shipped this would cost you $2000 new."

So for a $1280 tank (when new) he's asking $1500 second hand with a knackered mounting bracket - seems a bargain to me...

I would have bought it but it only has the cheap 60 dollar decals, not the 600 dollar ones. Even though both decals look identical...

I started the thread to make peeps aware of another ethanol friendly alternative to ally or steel tanks ( no injection version listed yet).
I wasn't aware of the Eti brand of tanks before. I knew people would rightly so, baulk at the price.
Didn't expect a ducati forum uk level of sarcasm!

No problem with expensive parts, I have been know to buy a fair few myself but when a seller offers an old, damaged tank for more than the price of a new one (his words), the only justification for the price being it had an expensive paint job 12 years ago that's now damaged so needs re-doing. Then it's possible he might get the **** taken.

Whether a kevlar tank is ethanol proof or not, I couldn't say but I'd personally be wary of a used composite (any variety) tank, especially one that's (at least) 12 years old and coming from the other side of the Atlantic, as it's a long way back if you need to return it.

As for $900 for a carbon fuel cap... :eyepopping:

Too hard to resist. Besides its good to laugh!

BTW the red one is described
“Mounting plate separated from tank in one area. Never came off tank just separated a little when flexed. Epoxied it and it has been fine for years.”

Obviously an item is worth what someone will pay but, IIRC the same seller was recently offering a pair of used, carbon fibre monster swingarm endcaps at over a grand which, by any measure does seem a tad OTT.

Especially for a part that as soon as you adjust the chain will likely mark/scrape/crack...

He still has those end caps:-

Only $1100! bargain! :)

He also has a clutch master cylinder that he wants $7500 for, must be a good one!

I wonder if its totally unique - like the one he last last month?

As you say, his stuff is worth what he's prepared to sell it for. Until then there's just posturing on eBay where he pretends he's got really rare and desirable stuff.

Personally I can do without them, so they have so little value that I'm not intending to bid on them. :mand:
