Everyone excited? I'm very interested to hear some official details at last.

Very VFR but nothing like...

You have to wonder what all that shimming will do to the service cost, then if you can afford it then you aren't going to worry too much.
Will it be a desmosedecimi as it's got 16 valves in the head;)

I'm going with an old more classic R Desmoquattro, seems like enough pistons and valves for me!!

They're calling it 'Desmosedici Stradale', the engine is being revealed to VIP guests at Misano

Presumably then by the name it is a road based V4 engine?

If you want to build a competitive SBK machine, you really need a road going, one litre four cylinder starting point. The number of twins (with single sided swingarms) competing in MotoGP should be a clue to that.

although it appears that the stradale is an 1100, with the R version reduced to 1000.

Only in a capacity based formula ... which SBK isn't.
Its a road bike based formula with flexible capacity regulations, so why limit it to the best layout for MotoGP ?
Leaving the twin with no further race development .. and perhaps a limited future (perish the thought).
And leaving us all with the same, boring, overcomplicated 4cyl road engines at the end of the day.
Though of course, Ducati may be wiser and retain the twins in the long term for their roadgoing suitability.
It'll just be a shame that they can no longer compete in the roadbike race series.
And to me, it does all seem like the thin end of the wedge.
I hope I'm wrong.

Sprocket attachment looks well dodgy.

Stradale = street

MV already make a bike of this name and pretty sure Alfa/Lancia did to

Yes, but as Stradale is an adjective rather than a noun it translates better to "of the road" or "roadworthy" rather than "road" itself.

Not that I know any Italian. :spin::spin:

Shame that the dual spray bar above and below the butterflies doesn't look like it could be easily retro fitted to earlier models (748R), that I'd be very interested in.

Did anyone notice the bit where he said the future will be electric? :worried:
