Shock advice

Looking for a replacement shock for my 95 900 and have seen a piggyback one for a 2002 900. Just a temporary replacement until the winter when I'm planning a strip down. Can anyone tell me if it will fit?

Pretty sure it will be a different length, as '02 is rod type link and yours is a hoop.
