Long shot I know, I was wondering if anyone had any of the Monster S4 Challenge Cup parts still kicking around, including the white crash bungs/mushrooms, white spindle protectors and radiator crash guards thingy that they want to part with........?

How strange, I've just joined the club this week and I have an Ex S4 Challange Monster and have just removed the side crash protectors & crash bars.

Unfortunately for you, I agreed with the last owner not to sell anything as I gave him first refusal on buying the bike back. I also have the original slip on exhaust cans, scrapped down both side, I assume from when raced + a box of other bits. Brake Hoses & bit which have been replace with Carbon fibre items.

I ask him if I can dispose of these.

I'm having some problems with the bike, which i'm just going to post a question on. You might know the answer if you've got an S4.

Where are all these Ex challenge bikes suddenly coming from? :)

Interesting that, from the pics, it looks like the S4 Challenge racers were fitted with the above-the-swinger, fixed rear brake caliper, rather than the floating caliper set-up.
You would think that the floater would be the obvious design choice for a racing machine ...???

Couple more pics. They were fitted with an open clutch and looks like DP trick bits, mine is back to standard now.

Because they were converted road bikes, there are about 2 hairpins on UK tracks than need a dab a rear brake, otherwise pretty irrelevant.

Nattyboy had the fairing from #99 for years

I can't remember what number was on mine when I bought it.

That was before I dremmelled out a hole for the projector light and had it painted.

@alanS4 it would be interesting to know how many still exist, I believe there were 40 bikes, but someone may tell me differently.

Mine is a Yellow one, which could be the one in the photo, but how would you find out?

I think this one was supplied by Powersport in Nottingham. Was it keys in a bag and pick like the LC's?

I've got a spare ECU with mine, did they have one set up for racing?

I'm still having problems with mine, i think its immobiliser, any advice on who to use to refresh ECU & remove the immobiliser?
I'll post photo's when running, but she look good, just won't run....

They originally had numbers hand written in magic marker on the hose clamp part of the headlight u-bracket. I think these were used to track them during servicing by GSE. A bit of brake cleaner or a good polish and the evidence would be gone for good.

They should have a race ECU without immobilser, try emailing Antony at Avanti Race Parts for advice.

Yeah, I imagine they would have been fitted with the DP ECU for the half system/open cans which as standard wouldn't have had the immobiliser switched on, but I suppose any subsequent owner may have red keyed the ECU to the Immobiliser when they owned it.

Coincidentally, I have one of the original DP long full bellypans, which I don't think I'll be using, If you need one of those let me know.

Has anyone got a couple of photos of how the Challenge Cup nose cone/fairing is fitted to the bike ? thanks

My guess would be that it fits to the headlamp brackets in place of the headlamp. I think Flip had one fitted with a projector lamp, so I'm guessing he would know.

Just a word on the DP belly pans- there is a difference between the S4 and the air cooled versions as the S4 has a different front profile to accept the twin down pipes from the horizontal cylinder.

On the air cooled version it is shaped for just the one pipe.

The S4 type will fit both water and air cooled I would think but not the other way round without some Dremel work first.

I had assumed that mine was an S4 Challenge one as that is what I was told when I bought it, but it could of course be the earlier Monster Cup type. I think there is a barcode number which I can check next time I'm up in the loft.
