Oh my days. I recently had a quote for about £4K!
The best online was £1400. I also have an 1100 evo. Will have to check out Ducati insurace

my 998s insurance was shortly due for renewal, and I went and bought the M900, so called the insurance firm (Onecall) to ask if they could add the M900 to the policy. They don't do multi vehicle and then offered a separate quote on the M900 at £478 FC!! given the 998s is less than £200, I wasn't too pleased with this and their "but you don't have any no-claims on this bike" BS, regardless of my inability to be able to ride 2 bikes at any 1 time!

so, cancellation with Onecall was done, and phoned Bemoto insurance (they only do bikes and are pretty good with multi bike policies - thier website does actually use the "you can only ride 1 bike at a time" philosphy). got both bikes insured FC plus RAC recovery, helmet/leather cover, EU cover, legal, etc for £277, total.

Really pleased, and would recommend giving them a call.

I use this comparison site. So far has never failed to beat the others, for me at least

+1 from me, just renewed my insurance with these guys & saved the thick end of £30 - you wouldn't walk past it in the street would you?

Nice one Dirty, thanks for the tip.

I like D.I. as they allow all mods on the proviso that they replace with standard parts.
