Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question....

Hi peeps, I need to lower the bike so I bought this kit:

http://www.metisse.de/ride-hight-reductions-kits/tieferlegungen/lowering-kit-ducati-monster-1100-evo.html

The instructions say you have to raise the forks through the top yoke 25mm when it is fitted. My 1100S came with the forks already 25mm through the yoke so another 25mm would seem excessive.

Please could someone with a 2010 1100 S tell me if the 25mm that mine came with is standard and what the effect of another 25mm might be (it'll look ridiculous!)...

Thanks and regards,

Jim G.

Top of fork cap should be 228.1mm above the top of the bottom yoke clamp

Thats all is shows in the manual

I can post a pic in a moment
Got to boot up pc

You could also get a free 'spirit level' type app for your phone and check the angle of the yoke before fitting and reconfirm afterwards to check the rake angle has been maintained

I think I misunderstood what you needed.

Your link is wrong mate so I can't look at item you bought (Error 404) which means "page doesn't exist.

if you put the forks through the yokes 25mm they will be just about hitting the bars if indeed they will go another 25mm.

Regards
Rick

you could have saved yourself a lot of money and fitted a M696 upper shock mount (looks like that's what they sold you for 3x the price as one from Ducati)

You will need to slide your forks up the yokes same amount as the rear has lowered (you need to measure ride height before and after fitting to get it right.)

yep looks like same length as 696 top mount (£30 +vat from Ducati last time I bought one to lower another 1100 evo for a lady).

Nice price Metisse!

When you get there, click on the union Flag linkey, unless your German is OK, then click on lowering kits and put the bike details in. :mand:

Can you get shorter fork springs at the correct rate for your weight and riding style? That would lower the front end without the fork valves moving up to the handlebars, but would reduce suspension travel.

Travel would be reduced in any case by the bike being closer to the ground and the wheel closer to the engine.

Thanks for all your help people. It looks like I've wasted my money (again!)....

Back to the drawing board...

Cheers,
