What do you recommend , was looking at the R&G Crash protectors but you need to drill the frame

I have R&G Aero on mine. You don't need to drill the frame, they replace one of the engine mounts.

Takes about 10 mins to fit.

Same as Darren, I think the R and G's were £ 30 or so and the long bolt supplied replaces one of the engine mounting bolts, atb Steve

Personally I would give it a go at undoing and removing the bolt before spending any money on crash bungs as after twenty years of it probably never having moved since Mario fitted it with the lightest smear of Olive oil you might decide you don't actually want crash bungs after all

R&G are the only ones I would buy, tried and tested in 3 years of DD racing, protected the tank well and never broke off. You don't need to modify the frame. There are cheaper ones available, but the ones I tested just sheared off ...

I'm not sure why they don't list the Aeros for the M900? Personally I preferred those to the standard ones, but I'm sure both are just as good. If you can get some for £30 as someone did, then you'll have got a real bargain. I think I paid something like £70!

Assuming it's the same as my s4 you use the new long bolt as a drift to push out the old bolt. Don't try to remove the old one first, the engine will drop and you won't be able to get the new one in.

Check the parts manual to see what's lurking inside those recesses before trying to hit them with hammers.
Mine had Allen head bolts in each of them: the heads were both on the LHS (Near side UK), but the front on had a lock nut hidden in the recess, whereas the rear one has a thread on the frame itself?
