Just seen CE approved riding jeans on website. £49.
Only limited sizes though (34,36,38 waist)
Might be of intetest to someone on here.
Also got some merino underlayer tops which look good.

i have a ALDI pair for 2 years good value and well made but not as protective as my Hood jeans but a 1/4 the price still love HOODs as well and will get another set this year as my old ones are just wearing out after 9 years of hard use ..

I watched on FB a video of a guy on a go cart who dragged a pair or aldi and a pair of hood armoured jeans behind it on a track. . Aldi jeans fell apart but hood jeans alough the denim wore through on some parts the lining stayed with no holes

Well with that depth of scientific testing to provide evidence, it would appear that Aldi can forget all their TUV testing and CE compliance, it's game over :D

A personal choice, and where you are going / what you are doing once you arrive makes a difference, but quality leather is surely better protection?

I thought they were a good compromise for the spec ( i think aldi also did non CE approved versions aswell)
You can pay upto £500 for SAINT brand denim riding jeans.

Hood jeans are probably the best, the lining goes all the way down the legs, plus decent denim and not vet expensive.

I actually bought the Aldi jeans, size 34, and they were absolutely huge, they looked like comedy clown trousers so they went straight back.

Ended up buying a pair of Rev-it jeans, admittedly far more expensive, however they look and feel like regular jeans (even with knee and hip armour). In saying that I still wear full leathers if I'm going out on a long/high speed run.
