I am into 2V aircooled bikes.
On the road I drive my Monster 600 - 96 that have been gradually upgraded.
Current status is 1100 engine fully tuned, TPO Beast R, DP cams, CJS ported heads, Pistal HC, DP spagetti system, Öhlins at the rear with billet "loop" and Öhlins from M1100S at the front with radial brembo, 748R disc and fender from GT1000.

Looks great, I bet the M600 decal has caught a few people out!

Welcome aboard. Looks good, what ECU is it using? and does the speedo work?

Hi and welcome. Great looking bike. That's a proper Monster hot rod, a real Evo.

Some comments from the MOT guys:
After the test drive. "A quick little 600 bike, must be fun in the city."
Looking at the radial brake caliper. "The Italians have always been early with high performance equipment on the road bikes"

I am using wiring harness, instrument and ECU "IAW 15M.A8" from a M900ie-00.
So the speedo is mechanical driven from the front wheel.
Bought the bike back in 2003 and have improved it over the years.
600 Carb engine --> 900 carb engine --> 900ie engine --> 1000ds engine -->
1100 fully blown engine.
600 forks --> M900-97 "semi adjustable forks --> M900ie fully adjustabel forks -->
Upgraded with linear Öhlins springs, K-tech kit and custom made internal parts -->
M1100S Öhlins radial forks upgraded with linear spring and tuned shim kit.
Next is maybe to take a step back and fit a pair of Keihin FCR 41 split carb.

Thats the best monster EVER

If not the best ever, as there's no such thing as perfect but its pretty damn close. I'd forget about FCR carbs, why would you want to go back to the stone age? They would be difficult to set up and would offer no performance advantages that I can think of.

In terms of improvements I would instead I'd be thinking of weight reduction, lighter carbon wheels, carbon bodywork, tank, lighter cycle parts etc.

You may also get some small performance increases by changing the exhaust silencers to high level 50mm paired with ypur DP manifold or if not a bespoke bigger bore system and remapped to match, I assume you're already using a PCIII or similar?

You forgot to mention the alloy swinging arm, floating rear calliper, Hypermotard oil lines and Marchensi? wheels. :mand:... Very nice mate... :thumbsup:

Good to know that the old 900ie ECU will run a twin spark engine. In case I ever upgrade to a 1000ds motor.

Damn, I missed the oil lines but spotted all the other stuff. I must try to not get out so much! :) Maybe a Hyper oil cooler too because I don't remember seeing one that size on a Monster before.

Yep. Definitely bigger than a Monster cooler, but I didn't want to push my luck and say it was a Hyper one, as there are so many different types.
But then again it could be a whole engine from a Hyper 1000ds?

If you make up a longer starter lead (700mm I think), you can run it round the other side of the engine like the oil lines and clean the timing side up even more.

PITA grafting Hyper motor to Monster swingarm, you need bearings somewhere ;-)

Thanks!
It is Torbjörn here in Gothenburg that have done the work on the forks.
The only reason to go back to FCR carb is the challange to get them tuned as good as the injection. The tuning have been done directly into the exísting 15M ecu by myself, hope to have my dyno up and running very soon.
Have mag wheels on my trackbike ,1100SS, and an extra front mag wheel but still looking for another rear mag wheel.
Had a fight at ebay for a Roadracing aluminium tank but did not win that fight.
Have a ETI fuelcel on my trackbike but may go the same route for the Monster.
Well spotted of the other upgraded parts. Due to the tuning of the engine I went for the large oilcooler from Hypermotard SP EVO.
The engine is a M1000 from the beginning with the cylinders bored and replated by Langcourt. The red part that is shown is the electraeon fast throttle cam.
Thanks for the tips of the longer starter lead.

Hi Gothenburg Monster.

I on with doing something similar to what started as a 1994 M900, now with 900ie engine, My question is how did you manage to retard the ignition required for the DS ignition set up, if you're still using the 1.5 ECU? because this would save me so much grief! thanks Bitza.
