I'm sure this as probably been asked before but I can't find anything by searching!
Could some one tell me what the size socket I need for the front wheel on a Monster 1100evo please?
I have numerous sockets but they all seem to be either slightly too small or slightly larger which seems a bit strange to me.
Thanks

You need a 28mm socket for this nut. And when you replace it, tighten it to 63Nm after applying some molybdenum grease.
You might find this thread useful: http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?t=51038 as it contains the torque values for all the fasteners.

Dunno, but assuming that its an ordinary hex nut ...
If you take the socket that's slightly loose, drape a rag over the nut, then push the socket over that, you'll take up the slack in the socket and protect the nut from damage at the same time.

Don't forget you'll also need the spindle locking tool to stop the axle from turning while you tighten up the nut.
If you don't already have one, have a look at this thread for alternatives.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the info. I bought a tool off a member a while back and the 28mm socket should arrive today.
Cheers
