Hi Garry,
Do a forum search on north west area rep mate, there does not seem to be one.

I am over in the Wirral , so not far from you, would be happy to meet up. There are a few from these parts it would appear from posts on here.

Blimey Garry I didn't even know about that cafe in Widnes but I was thinking that the cafe at J&S would be a good place to meet up at occasionally for breakfast plus of course Rivi barn.
Like the guys and gals down south we don't need to be on two wheels it's just getting together that counts, I've met many monster owners either at DM or at their homes when delivering the bikes so yes there are quite a lot of monsters in the northwest.

That sounds like a plan Garry, like buzz bomb I didn't know that place existed, I must pass by once a week, keep an eye on the weather,.... We have had the gritters out twice in the last week!

Hi Mike,
The J&S store is at Delamere on the A556, it's a huge motorcycle clothing and accessory store complete with cafe and is a very popular ride-out destination.

OK so when do we arrange a meeting??

Geoff.

btw the post code -CW8 2HB.

13-11-2016, 09:45 AM
It's good to hear of another area get together...

Just for interest, if you go to the "Members List" and select an "Advanced Search". you can find all the members registered in your County, or any selected County.
You don't have to fill any of the other fields, just pull down a County of your choice.

I did this for Norfolk, when we had a meet at The Lessingham Star and sent a PM to all of them... Took a little while 5 PM's at a time, but it was worth it as we had an impressive turn out.

I can send to 30 recipients now, so if you want me to take the strain just send me the message you want to put out and I will forward it to whatever County(s) you wish.

Guys, this is good news, nice one Gary for kicking off the thread.

I am up for a meet, only weekend I have booked this side of Christmas is 3/4th December.

Like Geoff has said if the weathers pants on the decided day I will be in a car !!!, we all have Bologna's best so it's the meet up that counts.

Moco1961
13-11-2016, 02:22 PM
Thanks MR Gazza, that may be a big task, so far we have responses from Cheshire,Greater Manchester , Lancashire and Merseyside !!!!!!!

Hi Geoff,Garry,

So date wise that leaves this coming Sunday, 20th November.... Sunday 4th December or Saturday/Sunday 10th,11th.

Venue wise I favour j&s but tbh I think the fact we are arranging a meet is good so if its Rivi that gets the nod that's also good, I could hook up with Geoff and ride over together.

buzzbomb
15-11-2016, 09:59 PM
Well it's certainly gone quiet, tomorrow I'll contact a couple of members that I know to see if they're interested, my thoughts are that J&S would be a good venue as there's plenty of parking, the on site cafe and also the store to have a butchers.

We all arrived by car but at this time of year it's a matter of getting together for a chat with the hope of some warm and rain free ride outs next summer.

Hi Garry,

Pleased to know you are ok bud, weather was not bad in and around delemere.....

Just six of us this morning, three new faces which is great, we are keen to build on this and keep it going.

WE agreed next months meet will be at J & S again, 10:30 breakfast meet, Sunday 5th February, we can discuss more potential meeting places then, I spotted a place millennium motorcycles in St. Helens which is fairly central for everyone.......not sure if you know of it, has an upstairs cafe.

My suggestion would be to have a few venues for monthly meets, each chosen to suit the regulars.

Hope to meet you on the 5th and book some of that fine weather you mentioned !

Cheers

Formby and Southport won't alllow sandyachts there's only a limited space at Ainsdale and you need a permit. I used to go to St Annes but it was stopped there after the fatality in 2004. Nowhere else in the North West now.

sorry guys... we had a small set back setting off, and then coupled with bad luck having to stop at the temporary lights on the way and an un-planned fuel stop (thought we had enough but the fuel light said otherwise) we missed you by about 5-10 mins...

Of course Pezz, most welcome mate.not sure where you are in Liverpool but if you are coming through the tunnel you could meet me and a few others at the bottom of the Wirral. We are getting to Starbucks on the A540 around 9:30 then onto beeston from there, let me know if you fancy that and I will pm you some better direction, depending which tunnel you use.......see you tomorrow.

05-08-2017, 08:24 AM
I'm in Childwall just up from the five ways. Would normally go over the bridge to get to Beeston but its much of a muchness going through the tunnel - I'd usually go through the Birkenhead tunnel and down the A41 and then the A550. I know where the Starbucks is - end of the 56 off the slip road. Is it a bit fiddly to get to it though? If you could send me details it would be helpful. I'll aim to get there for 9.30

I'm given to understand they've only just reopened, I think it was a younger sister and mother helping out the main lady there and yes the service was pretty poor but given how many people they had in there understandable. I'm willing to give them a chance in the name of supporting local businesses and the fact they were very apologetic when they took ages with the orders.

As for mushy peas, think you mean smashed avocado on toast, given there weren't that many options on the breakfast menu it can't have been hard to work out that is what is was?

:thumbsup:Ok folks so we have a meeting place for Sunday, the Brandreth barn tea rooms, just off the A59 at Burscough. If we aim to meet at 11:30 it allows time for a cuppa and chat before heading off to the air show.Chris has volunteered to guide is into Southport from there avoiding the traffic.

Fingers crossed for good weather...... meaning dry and hopefully clear ! See you Sunday

Hello all

I'll do a run tomorrow to see how long it will take to get to the Esplanade car park with the extra traffic, normally it would be about 25 mins.

If you are heading up the A59 you go over the 2 mini roundabouts in Burscough and then first left on to Red Cat Lane, Brandreth is about a mile on the left after you've gone through the traffic calming.

See you Sunday

ChrisC2925

Rob, thanks for the response mate......unfortunately the bike was swiftly put away as rain yet again fell just as I was about to leave. Heavy intermittent showers followed me to Geoffs ......so it was a 3 member meet at brandreth barn with the airshow avoided until next year .....great catchup and company so all was not lost.

Great meeting place by the way that Chris has put on our radar, great food and Lancashire tea,
..so we are still sticking to the plan of North Wales trip next Sunday and Cosford following the monthly meet at the Lockgate coffee house, it would be great if you can make either or both!

Well it's weekend and once again we have a plan.... Tomorrows planned ride looks like a dry one, I have checked the hourly forcast for Ruthin,Denbigh and Mold and at the moment it looks dry until late afternoon...so plan is to meet up at Starbucks , end of the M56 between 10.30 and 11.00 then head off to Llyn brenig via Ruthin. There is a visitor centre there for the usual refreshment.
It would be great to see some new faces.......see you at Starbucks.....

:cry:Morning All.............as you know its that time of the month again, HOWEVER...the weather forecast for Sunday in Cheshire and the North West is really bad, strong Southerly winds and intermittent Heavy rain , there is a yellow warning posted by the MET office for our region...........so as we all had a great ride out last weekend the proposal is to meet at the Lockgate NEXT Sunday,,8TH October. Firstly I hope that' s acceptable to everyone,( we would be in cars or boats tomorrow anyway !) secondly the long range is looking dry for next week end so we may even get a ride in too. I apologise in advance if anybody misses this post, I have sent texts and PM's to the regulars so hopefully no-one will have a wasted journey. Fingers crossed for a dry day on the 8th,I will also mail Laura so she knows we will be a week late.
Hope to see you all on the 8th..........

Soon comes around, the monthly meet
The Lockgate Cafe for a breakfast treat
Salty roads to travel near or far,
Sunday looks like travel by car.

It's the final one for the year,
So make an effort, there's nowt to fear !
Coffee and cakes that everyone likes,
When we're fed we talk about bikes !!

Hope to see you all Sunday..............

:thumbsup:Great turn out again today folks .....nice to greet another new face too.

For those who could not make it today the Lockgate is now our "official" meeting venue for the first Sunday in the month, Laura has even got hold of a vintage motorcycle painting to go alongside the sign that Geoff has produced to define "our corner".

Big thanks to Geoff for manufacturing the sign, brilliant job, I will take some pics of our corner once she has put them on the wall......a job best left to her, she should know where the plumbing and electrics are routed !!

So it's the Christmas meal next up, Pezz will post a venue for "prinks" and potential car parks, we are now up to 17 , should be a great night, see you there if not before:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

OK guys - two car parks one by the Marriott Hotel Queens Square on Whitechapel L1 1RH and the other is on Vernon Street L2 2HJ which is just behind Moorfields station which is where to get off if travelling by train ;) Both are about the same 5 minute walk from Casa Italia on Stanley Street.

I reckon meet at the White Star a trad old pub just round the corner from the restaurant - its on Button Street that joins Matthew Street to Whitechapel. Will be easy enough to find

See you there in a couple of weeks

So, while contemplating the effects over over indulgence these last few days, I thought it was about time to respond to Chris's question from the NW meal thread...what's planned for 2018?

It would be good if we spread our wings to encourage members from all areas to join in the fun, in particular the North and East of our Region.I would also like to propose members take "ownership" of a ride out, let's get a list started at the first monthly meet ,then we can decide on the schedule and mix it up so we do ride out to the south of the region, then to the North etc etc.....

As a starter for ten,

RAF Cosford.......South of Region.........Mike O
Trough of Bowland.....North of Region......Chris

There are plenty of decent destinations,

Ladybower reservoir ......East of Region...( dambusters )
Chatsworth
Rutland
Rivington
Skipton
How about a longer ride into Wales? Or an over-nighter up in the Lakes?

Also there is no harm in revisiting the ride outs that were well received ,
Ellesmere, Tittlesworth and Llyn Brenig.

How about "a day at the races".....oulton park for BSB........Pezz are you up for that one ?

If everyone can have a head scratch this coming week for discussion at the first monthly meet that would be great.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

See you all on the seventh at the Lockgate.....

Not done a run out passed Ladybower for a long time, used to be a regular when visiting the inlaws in Sheffield and then back through Baslow, so that would be a blast from the past providing there's no snow!!

providing there's no snow!!

Now that's what I call wishful thinking, yes we need to get out more next year weather permitting.

I know that I have more free time than most but we need to be able to seize the opportunity when ever a good weekend is forecast to get out as a group.

Hey up .........thanks to the sharp eye of Marc ( aka skid-Marc ) we have avoided the embarrassment of turning up at the lockgate on Sunday and finding it shut !

Laura has confirmed she does not open until 10th January but would welcome us all on the 14th, hope that's acceptable to everyone.

I will put that one down as a near miss and owe Marc a coffee and possibly a bacon butty too for the heads up on that one, hope to see you all on the 14th , 10.30 ish, 4 wheels or 2, all welcome.
