Just been face timing Chris (he of desmoworld) and whilst talking he showed me his latest frame plugs for the monster 1200 range along with a 1200R that had a Spark carbon can fitted, both products looked awesome.

On another note I see that the new monster has been announced at quite a reasonable price which hopefully will draw new members to the club, personally I like it.

I've got the 'R' version and quite like the look of the new 'S'. The below pic is a screen grab from the recent Ducati World Première video....looks like it does have a fuel gauge

Gear Position Indicator?

Could be a deal breaker

My 1979 Suzuki GS750 had a gear position indicator

I pause momentarily because I find myself about to comment on ....
The paint .. and the gear position indicator.
You would think I'd have something more "bikey" to say, really.
But nevertheless.....
I've had a kinda hankering after that particular shade of grey for years now.
It looks ok on the 1200.
And, despite often saying that my 750 needs one, I don't think a gear position indicator is necessary on the 1200. After all, with an engine that size you must surely never run out of gears.
My 750, with its 60 odd bhp, uses all its gears fully.

I must say that, despite not particularly liking them for their cluttered appearance when I first saw them at EICMA (I remember commenting that, from the saddle, it looked like you were pushing a wheelbarrow full of scrap steel tubing), the 1200s have grown on me ever since.
I'd still take a black evo instead though.

Vehicles have but two gears

The right one, and the wrong one.

Looks very similar to a grey used by parent company Audi on some of their cars.

Car colour fashion is a weird thing. Back in 2005 I sold a car to a customer who wanted white, I didn't even realise we did white as an option at the time. When the boss saw the order he went mad at me, telling me I have to tell her to change her mind, 'no one wants white cars'. I doubt it was down to this little old lady. She had been buying white cars for 30+ years but within a couple of years fashion had swung around in her favour again. I think Fiat where one of the first to push out greys, and Porsche were early adopters (copiers?) Worldwide grey was 4th most popular colour in 2012 apparently! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_colour_popularity
