Hi all. Relative newcomer here, only had my bike licence for a couple of years. 1200 Bandit as my daily commute but fancied something a bit more exciting for Sunday rides and a 2002 S4 came up a few months ago. Certainly fits the brief! I have made a few small mods: replaced the massive indicators with some led ones, and the tea tray with a discreet CF alternative from eBay (not ready to get the hacksaw out just yet). Issues still to solve are the side stand, which seems a bit short and also the foot is not flat on the floor, so maybe bent, and a tacho which works when it feels like it. But that aside it's a lot of fun so far.

Don't you go too quick om those short roads of yours and end up testing the aquaplaning capabilities of the S4 ;)

S4 with 35 max speed limit, bet that's fun !

They tell me it has six gears - I have managed to get third...

:chuckle:

Have friends who live in Vale, had long weekend there this year, drove round in their little car with Guernsey rash on the side, nasty little stone walls !

Yes, there are a lot of granite walls waiting to leap out at the unsuspecting motorist. Some nice country lanes though, if you can avoid the Sunday drivers. Don't think I will be using the S4 for work very often though, not much fun in traffic.

Change the drive sprocket for a smaller one (go down a tooth) - it'll make it more usable.

Welcome neighbour (I was born in Jersey and now live in France) :mand:
