i am very happy with the results from this old tractor air cooled motor,

When Kato posted this I wondered for a second if the motor in question could have been used in an aircraft, as aero-engines are often referred to as "Tractor" or "Pusher" depending on which end of the plane they are mounted.

I am sure that Kato's comment was more a tongue in cheek agricultural reference than aero.

Motorcycle engines have been used in aircraft historically and contemporarily, so here's a bit of bubble gum for you.

Vincent made a tuned version of their twin using lots of magnesium, called the Picador.
Sadly employed in target drones, many would have been blasted out of the sky or just ditched at Sea.

An aero-modelling friend of mine who worked for Meggit, ( a British drone company) told me that they used Triumph 955i engines tuned to give 130bhp, in some of their drones.
Not sure which drones exactly but fairly sure it was these ones....Difficult to get a sense of scale on the "Snipe"!

BMW boxers are often used in micro-lights and I am sure there are many other examples....Just waiting to see how long it takes for you to post up pics of aero-engines in bikes...

I've been up to 2000ft sitting in front of a Rotax 250

That didn't take long... There's a blue one too. Well you would, wouldn't you, if you had a spare Radial kicking around.

Was it a Paramotor?

Cool...

That's a small engine, even for a microlight. Did you have a long take off run?

I'd guess about 100m of beach but I might be a bit off on the estimate.
It was 20 odd years ago, on the East side of South Africa, a local enthusiast was charging about £10 for a fifteen minute ride along the coast.
No one had smart phones or even digital cameras then, otherwise I'd have posted a picture.
