I like to keep my bikes clean but I find that my Triumph Tiger 800xc and Monster 750 with their exposed engines and frames have loads of nooks and crannies which are a pain in the arse to dry before putting the bike away in the garage. So I decided to invest in a bike dryer. A quick scan of fleabay revealed some nice machines but at circa £120 they're a bit too rich for me. I did a bit more searching and found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2800W-Stepless-Speed-Dog-Hair-Dryer-Heater-Pet-Grooming-Hairdryer-Blaster-Blower-/172349440546?hash=item2820d3c222:g:mXUAAOSwLF1X9z~ U at £55.00p it seemed worth a punt ( I could always use it for the mutt if it was not up to my intended purpose) . Money invested and today I put it to the test, what a result result it works great, within a couple of minutes all of the water that gathers in the hard to get to places was blown away and even when used on the high heat setting there was no danger of any damage.
There was no water marks on the paintwork or damp in the wiring. It's £55 well invested.

I use Scotoiler FS365, wash the bike then spray the engine, electrics etc, works a treat

I'm with you on the dryer, I looked at the bike dryers and they wanted silly money so like you looked at the pet dryers on eBay, £55 for pretty much the samer bit of kit complete with 3 nozzels, with heat just the job for drying the bike.

Great find Stevie W . May have to get one too.
Also , bigredduke, I think it would be wise to take your dog to the vets,,,

Or why not one of these (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REMINGTON-SALON-CERAMIC-IONIC-HAIRDRYER-2000W-2KW-CONCENTRATOR-D3010-HAIR-DRYER-/400660468605?hash=item5d4939937d:g:p1kAAOSwBnVW9T9 V)?

My dog thinks the hoover is the devil. She'd tear a dog dryer to pieces :D

I've used one of those but believe me they're nowhere near as good for drying the bike. The pet dryer shifts an amazing volume of warm air which really does the trick.

Nice one Stevie. A shame though, quote 'Doesn't post to Scottish Highlands'. I've lost count how many times I've read this when seeing stuff to buy. It's as if we're on a different planet up here (as many others on this forum will concur). I'm sure they think Post Office deliveries stop at Hadrian's Wall :banghead:

There's quite a few suppliers on Ebay I'm sure that you will find one brave enough to cross the border.

These are often sold as 'dog blasters' and are cheaper than bike driers which are often the same product.

If they can dry a wet and muddy border collie they can dry a wet motorbike ;)

Could be worse, if old Handrian had finished his wall you'd really be stuffed;):spin:
