Evening all

Well, picked the new bike up today, more of that in a minute.

First off a big thank you to Wilf and his Team at Moto Rapido, couldn't fault the service from start to finish. The bike was immaculately prepare by Tom at MR, who frankly has some serious cleaning OCD! The complete bike was cleaned and protected with ACF (applied with a cotton bud in places), so clean I felt a little guilty getting it dirty today on the way home! All the paperwork and hand over was easy and painless, Andrew had it all prepared and mostly consisted of signing things! So a really big thank you to all at MR, it's only taken me 13 & 1/2 years to be a repeat customer!

So on to the 1200R...
Bit of a leap of faith as I didn't test ride but I needn't have worried, it's bloomin' awesome, even at running in speeds. It's so planted on the road and inspires with huge grip and immaculate suspension, suffice to say I reckon this is the best bike I've ever ridden.

Absolutely gorgeous Pedro..!!! sorry to say I was drooling over one in the MR showroom last week... ( not yours - it was a red one)....
Although this time last year I made a decision to stick with the M900 and not go for a 1200S having read the reviews and seeing a few of these now I am seriously considering booking a test ride in next week or so. I am deeply in lust....

Congrats, good isn't it :)

6k is enough revs to have fun and keep up, got mine to 7k now and a few twists that have seen the front come up.

Lovely bike, I saw it yesterday when I collected my new 1200 base as it was parked behind mine in the showroom! Also very happy with the service at Moto Rapido, well worth the 90mile trip!

And.... as you know Ped I did!!!! ... another very happy Moto Rapido customer... Thanks to George & Andrew for sorting it all out .. and fixing the missus up with a nice new carbon lid at the same time.

Managed to get out and grab a few shots.... no wheelie bins in sight unfortunately so had to make do with a bit of old industrial grime for a backdrop. Happy as Larry, loving the M1200R.. !!! Next job.... Tail chop...

Oh, btw, reflectors on the fork legs need to go... dental floss cuts the sticky nicely, the clean the residue off with wd40 or acf

Thanks for the tip Pedro..agree about the reflectors.... have you done yours or did MR do it for you?

Mark... Running in... plan is to have it done sometime around New Year. Just need a couple of days off work.. oh, and dry roads as I'm not a fan of wet & cold at same time.

I used fishing line on mine and WD40 to get the residue off, took 5 mins tops and looks so much better.

Don't mind the wet and cold its salted roads I refused to ride on, ruined too many bikes in the past when I didn't have a choice, but then again with a choice I will stick to dry and warm too ;) I have about 400 miles to the 1500 mile mark, that can wait now.

I took the reflectors off about a week ago.

As for running in, I've got about 800 miles on mine and I'm using up to about 8.5k revs in short bursts but only after it's properly warmed up for 20-30 minutes. The "orange line" on the rev counter starts at 7k but once up to 50degrees it moves to 9.5k.

One thing worth keeping an eye on - I fitted an Evotech oil cooler guard and even with 600 miles on before I fitted it, the oil cooler was full of road crud. I know MotoNik has also had the same issue. Worth cleaning it out regularly I think.

Better pic of mine

Sounds like a plan Steve, as long as the salt gets washed off the roads.

The mirrors are from Strada 7 Racing. To hold the brake/clutch reservoirs in place I used 7xM8 washers stacked on top of each other and dropped the OEM bolt through them.

I liked the fact that you can see every thing behind me, but it didn't take long until I got pi$$ed off because I couldn't filter as quickly as I liked due to the proximity of those pesky car wing mirrors - so I put the OEM ones back on, for now. :hissy:

I was looking at a spacer solution too, the left bolt will be no problem to replace but the right is an opposite thread, i have a set of Oberon mirrors that I may put on to see how it looks, but they are a pain to adjust and a slight knock sets them out again. As my Garage is the only access to the rear garden the NS gets knocked a bit. Also was wondering about the affect of removing the OEM bar ends.
