Ok, talked it over with the girl friend and I'm alowed to come too :)

Found a little tag in my lid with an E6 number on it (?!) that was tucked under the inner lining (strange for a £300+ lid only the cheak pieces are removable and the lining isn't!) The miss's wants to come too (spectator not rider), any idea how much that'd be?

Money'll be in the post first thing, so see you 'ol there!

Dark-Jon

FB said in a previous post that the UKMOC won't charge for spectators but Mallory may, J&R and myself are spectating too so there will be other people watching she is welcome to sit with :)

OK - dilemma,

Can 2 people of different experience share one bike?

If so then it'll soon be 2 more; if not, then it'll be 1 more (me me me me)

Kev Bunney

2 people can share 1 bike but I'm afraid you will have to pay for both of you.

J & R & D, why not come and have a go, much more fun than watching. Ask Mr. B I'm sure he'll tell you it's all good!

Billy Bigwheels
01-03-2004, 10:10 PM
Come on ladies we can pootle round together in the track day virgins group. As Chris said - you're bound to want a go when you're watching.

Julie
02-03-2004, 06:08 AM
J and R are not doing the track day cause we dont have leathers that zip together, and our helmets are flip top, and we are skint cause we have booked to do an off road day. Thats the only reason. So please stop the 'dont be scared threads' I'm sure others that are not doing it have the same reasons.

Billy Bigwheels
02-03-2004, 08:31 AM
Sorry, didn't realise i'd implied that

Julie
02-03-2004, 04:33 PM
no problem Billy, its just that it is often thought that because people are not doing the track day they must be scared. Which is not the issue.

It just isnt my thing and I havent got the kit.

B]2 people can share 1 bike but I'm afraid you will have to pay for both of you.[/B]

Paying for both of us is fine... So its more than likely that both Jann (AngelV) and I will be signing up and coming...

Are there any Hotels near the track that can be recommended?

And are any of you staying up there at a local hotel...so that we could try and organize a nice dinner for us all the night before or the night after?

Kev Bunney
03-03-2004, 01:34 PM
Just a guide, Julie and I can offer "monster" accomodation, there is also a hotel, The Cedars, in Julie`s road ! http://travel.knowhere.co.uk/hotels/~kirkbymallory/

Somebody muttered summint about having a poster done to put up in various bike shops / places of interest, did anything come of this? I dont mind knocking something up, if FB doesn't object, stick it in a Word Doc so anyone can print it out, might spread the word a bit more, which is always good :)

What do you reckon?

Added the link just to give those of us that have never been to Marllory a better idea of the set up.

Thanks Kev...we may take you up on the Monster sitting the night of hte 28th...

Jann and I will be coming up with 8 yr daughter and Jann's Dad (he has the trailer and hitch for the bike)....

Nice one Jon...I know no-ones volunteered yet for a poster, but speaking from a personal perspective, its not through lack of effort, rather more down to having a diploma in muppetary when it comes to anything computerised..

Kev Bunney

I think the racers get round in well under a minute ! me . . . . . about 10 :D

Chris
03-03-2004, 04:40 PM
Nat, It'll probablt be in 20 minute sessions so if you pull off at the hairpin, tou'll be about right!

It's a bit over a minute a lap, with enough turns to learn fairly quickly, but take all day improving!

03-03-2004, 05:32 PM
FWIW here's a pic of me at Mallory on my lovely RVF.
Sad thing is I had a big crash at Gerrards on the next lap. Big ouch :(

BTW This was pre-Edwinas and I was lapping in about 62 sec (standard road bike). Good 400 racers do it about 55secs. Lap record was 47sec or something. Generally reckoned that Edwinas adds about 7 sec to the lap (I think)

If Didge is going I don't think he (or Grant come to think of it) will be able to resist the temptation to pose on the startline gantry with their pants round their ankles.

Should make a good photo
