My humble opinion as a S2R 1000http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/gasaxephoto/IMG_1104.jpg (http://s241.photobucket.com/user/gasaxephoto/media/IMG_1104.jpg.html) owner , there are a lot of very nice and expensive components but the overall appearance is let down by engine cases , front pipes and wheels ,and termignioni silencers would be more desirable .
A bit of time giving it a good polish might help .
For reference , when I tried to sell my 2006 ,17,000 miles and almost mint condition ,I had an offer of £2800,which I declined ,trouble is , when you want a bike it's top price and when you want to sell folks seem to want it giving .

Do you still have all the original bits? If so, put it back as close to standard as you can, advertise it for a bit less, sell all the bling separately. It will make more for you that way ...

personally i would wrap the exhausts as they let the bike down, the casing paint would also be putting a lot of people off, one last thing.......take the pictures somewhere else, a bike/car can look a million worlds apart just on the location of photos and quality of them. for instance the rear pic of yours makes the indicators look that wonky its unreal, giving the wrong impression of the bike. don't mean no offence but wanted to give my opinion if i was a buyer

Jeez!! don't wrap the exhausts ,just take em off and get them polished ,not by hand ,but take them to a metal polishers if you don't have a pedestal grinder ,mine weren't great when I got the bike ,bought a polishing kit from frosts restorations and mounted it on my 6 inch pedestal grinder .
WTF wrapping bits of fireproof rag around the pipes , want it to look like the return of the mummy ?

personally i don't think wrapped headers look bad, after all he is trying to sell the bike, and some £15 wrap would make one of the issues far less of a issue.

However if it was my bike that had the issue and it wasn't up for sale i would remove and polish them

Not a big fan of wrapped headers either, I do intend to try and get both my Ducatis headers polished this winter though, haven't found anywhere local yet, but I'm looking.

I do think in response to the query that cleaning and polishing will help a sale enormously and good high quality photos just afterwards will demonstrate it's been cared for. Despite what you will write and what the record may state, if you can see it for yourself then thats most of the effort done already.

Funny you should say that about the indicators, they are ok it is the number plate that Ducati Glasgow fitted that is of centre.

Thanks for the input guys, the pics were a spur of the moment thing outside work, will get decent ones after this weekends Gentlemans Ride. Unfortunately Zimbo I don't have the original parts, so thats a no-no. Underneath the dirt and scary engine paint it is a great bike. It also shouldn't put people off from making a cheeky (wee) reduced offer ;)

You'll want more for it when you've cleaned it :)

Re no plate off set , my bike came with a big no plate courtesy of Pidcocks ,it was central and the exhaust gas burnt the off side edge ,because U.K no plates are too bloody big for S2R,s . Th e more reasonably sized one I replaced it with doesn't pose a fire hazard, even when mounted centrally .

It did have the wrap on it when I bought it funnily enough, and its picture was published in a bike mag
