Can anyone point me in the right direction for one of these for chain adjustment?

No one seems to list one for my bike yet.

Hi Mark

If it's the same as my 1100 Evo then the Ducati part no. is 887131038. Laser Tools do an equivalent, which you can get at Machine Mart for £12.

https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/040815035/

Note that, if you're going to adjust the chain yourself, make sure you know the torque settings for the pinch bolts - over-tightening can damage the hub.

Thank you for the info.

Oh well that one doesn't fit :( dealer told me it was the same as the other Monsters too, I got sent a 57mm spanner, should sit flush with the ring shouldn't it?

Sorry to hear that, Mark. You're right, of course, the spanner should sit tight against the ring.

I just looked on the Ducati website for the parts manual and the correct no. is 887133211.

Must be a different size. Hope that helps.

Doesn't anyone else think its ridiculous having bought an expensive new bike, that you have to then buy the tool to adjust the chain?

The reason for no chain adjustment tool is due to the pinch bolts being Torque Critical and Ducati don't trust their owners to do The job properly.

Thanks for the part number Luddite, yep it is silly, the Tech on my 600mile service put the Torque of 40nm for the pinch bolt plus the chain slack measurements on the service sheet for me. Need to go and point out the different size to the parts sales guy at the dealer now.

So all owners are expected to go to there local dealer to get the chain adjusted? lol. that would keep them busy.

is there a service schedule for that and what does it cost?

It sounds more like an excuse to make more money to me.

This is the same story for the Panigale. I have yet to use the service but I expect it to be free or a very nominal charge.

I was at my dealership a month or two back and we had an informal chat about the 'chain adjustment'. They said they could do it for me there & then - so they did, no cost. Result.
