Sorry all... Stuck again...

I've only attempted one of theses, but it started to bend the inner hex and just spin without turning the bolt..
Any tips to get these off without bending them all?

I've managed to get all out except 2.

Ther will be a bit of corrosion, steel to alloy does that, just look at landrover bodies!!
A bit of local heat or cold could free them.
Sometimes 'a smack wivahammer' does the same but is less predictable and is a bit operator dependent ... has to be hit smartly and square.
Else tag weld more leverage onto the heads

I agree usually a good shock (I don't men shouting 'BOO' at them) does the trick on these along with a good fitting socket hex to reduce the chance of rounding them off- they are 'cheese heads' in more ways than one :mand:

Replace with some lovely Titanium jobbies and never worry again!

Ha ha flip..
I'm thinking I'm best leaving it with the garage to deal with when they are taking the tyres off..... I've only got a heatgun

They should be loctited.
A bit of heat from your heat gun should soften it.
Watch out for the rubber seals in the bearings and around the speedo drive though .. I'd shield them with shiny metal (a bean can maybe, or even kitchen foil ?).

I would also give the ends of the bolts a sharp tap with a hammer and a suitable broad punch.
This will often shock loose any corrosion and/or Loctite on the threads.

Roughly how long should I put heat on it?

That's why I prefer the 'tap' method (and long breaker bar) on these over heat as it is too easy to get carried away and mark the finish of the discs but as Utopia says, you should be ok if you shield the more delicate bits.

But top of the list really is a properly good fitting socket hex key!!

If the bolts are already shot use a reverse drill bit. They sell them for a few quid in the Range. I used them on a recommendation from another UKMOC member and it worked a treat.

Indeed, good tolerance were never a priority of whoever made those bolts..

Depends on the heat you're producing. I use a rothenberger torch and only needs few seconds..

I've sacked it off.... I think I was doing more damage than good.
