I have recently bought a 1100 Evo, with termis. It has the termi ecu and air filter. I love the bike, but it is not great in traffic as the low down performance is poor, and the throttle is very snatchy. I have read that it is possible to improve this with a remap. Has anyone tried this, and is there anyone you could recommend (I live in Kent).

Give Neil at Cornerspeed (http://cornerspeed.co.uk/) a call on 01623 238944. He offers a postal remapping service and the difference at low revs is remarkable.

I have the stainless Termis with DP air filter and I sent Neil my ECU on a Friday and it was back with me within a week. There is now no more 'hunting' on a steady throttle and chain slap has been noticeably reduced. I can now run down to just over 2k rpm with no problems. I should add that I'm also running the smaller 14 tooth front sprocket.

The remap also disables both the exhaust valve and the lambda sensors so you can remove them.

Neil's knowledge and service is second to none and I thoroughly recommended him.

Thanks, I have spoken to Neil at Cornerspeed and will be sending the ECU to him tomorrow.

Interesting conversation about the ECU.

As I understood it if you have the DP ECU fitted that disables the o2 sensors but not the EV.

After that there aren't really much gains to be had! mines is running that exact set up with carbon termi's, performance air filter and a 14tooth front sprocket. IMO it's as smooth as your going to get a big air cooled v-twin and only starts hunting low down when I'm being lazy.

Only additional change I want and it's more for aesthetics is to remove the EV and control unit entirely......And carbon wheels but that's way off topic lol.

Well done, PAF, you won't be disappointed!

I don't know about the 'race' Termis but, certainly with the homologated version, the DP ECU just disables the exhaust valve, not the lambda sensors (perhaps because the homologated version still contains catalysts).

Anyway, once Neil's performed his magic, you can junk the exhaust valve and motor and maybe even fit a new link pipe like this, which tidies up the underside nicely...

Ron, not a 100% sure what the DP ecu removes when it is fitted, but if you check out the 3rd link in my earlier post above, you will see the difference on the dyno that the rexxer flash made compared to the DP ecu, believe me the difference is more than noticeable, it makes a big difference, and I also had a 14th front sprocket on when dyno'd and still have it on.

Luddite, where did you get the link pipe from and how much was it???, looks good :-)

Hi, Chris

I'm really pleased with this link pipe. It's from QD Exhaust and the UK distributor is Design Corse but their price is a bit salty at £312 with VAT but excluding delivery.

I got mine from db*killer in France, currently on sale for a much more reasonable £230 including taxes and free delivery.

(In fact, if you look at the second picture in their advert, you'll see that it's actually my bike!)

Ouch, not cheap, just about to book a track day, also I have just bought a second set of Panigale monoblocks for the bike, so it will have to wait for a bit till I have saved up a bit.

One for the Christmas list I think, Chris!

Enjoy your track day. With all your suspension mods and those Brembos, there'll be no excuses for not running at the front of the fast group!

I sent the ecu off to Cornerspeed and it was all remapped and back with me on Friday. Put it in the bike today, and it has transformed it. It now runs really well at low revs, and sounds better too.

I would recommend this option to anyone who wants their bike to run as it should and can!

The difference really is like night and day isn't it, PAF? Definitely money well spent.

If you want some stainless blanking plugs for your lambda bosses, I got these from ebay...
