Anyone have an air-cooled 900 engine hanging around they want shot of.

It's for a mates project which will be carburetted, and of course preferably with SS spec heads for the bigger valves.

One requiring a rebuild would be great to keep the cost down for him and give me the experience of rebuilding it for him.

Who's got what in their garage.

Thanks

Just had an interesting message suggesting a Multistrada 1000 engine is essentially an air-cooled M900 engine opened out to 1000cc, and that there is more of them about.

Does anyone know if the MS 1000 engine will fit an early 90's SS frame?

Thanks

Frame yes, Swingarm erm no. Single sided.

You would have to fiddle with that.

I think mts has bearings in Swingarm which is unusual which is why there is so many

Ah, yes, hadn't thought of that.

Thanks very much.

Do not get me wrong you can do it but need to take Swingarm in to account

Also the Swingarm on the mts has the shock in the opposite side to most Ducati if you're thinking of using it

Thanks Pompone.

He wants the more traditional look, so would not like a single sider.

I will be involved in this project once it gets off the ground and am secretly hoping it will go the way several of his have in the past.

He buys the bits, runs into an issue fitting them together, or gets distracted by something else, and puts it all to one side until he needs the space.
I'll be in just the right place at just the right time to snap it all up:mand:
