View Full Version : Will a 900 motor fit into my M600?

Apart from the additional front brake stuff what has to be done to slot a M900 motor into my M600?

My limited knowledge would say that you don't need to do anything as long as the engine is also the non injection type and has carbs fitted.
IMO it would be much easier to flog your current bike and upgrade or buy a crash damaged 900 with good frame etc and fit the bits from your 600 to it.

I agree,
If you are putting a carb model motor into a carb model bike you should be OK.
I put a 900 motor into my 750 and the only other 900 parts needed are the headpipes because the stroke is longer.
The electrical connector style changed over time so you need to pay attention to that.
If the connectors are of the same style it is a direct swap.
The fuel tanks and other details are different on injected models.

You would need the oil cooler from the 900 as well.
